The kitchen/ living room area does get very warm during the day and the AC cant keep up with the warming sun. My only suggestion would be to have an oscillating fan to move the air in that area. The bedrooms stay pretty cool though. While there is no lake view, it is nice and close to the lake. There were four of us and we hosted two more for dinner one night. We had plenty of space, everything worked well, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. The view of the cows across the road provided a nice vibe to our glass of wine before dinner. Just be sure you bring what you need.
