"Great for exploring Jaipur"
We picked this hotel based on reviews and the fact that it looked to be ideally located and most importantly, not a part of a large modern chain. We were not let down in any way.
The location is ideal, central, but on a quieter street, near the Pink City and easy access to the surrounding area. The airport is a twenty minute car ride away.
The building itself is old, original with a long history. It harks back to a bygone era in appearance and decor, is unique and has a comfortable feel about it. If you want modern, contemporary, chain type hotels, this is not for you, but maybe you should be a bit more adventurous.
We had 7 nights in a superior room, but on arrival had been upgraded to a suite, with an enormous room, and bathroom , dressing room accessed by an internal flight of stairs. The decor suited the hotel, its heritage and comfortable feel. Aircon and ceiling fan helped to keep it cool. The bed was enormous and very comfortable.
We had bed and breakfast, breakfast served in the garden room, which also acted as an evening dinning room. We ate dinner there on our last night and had an excellent meal. Breakfast was served at the table, lots of tea, toast, eggs ( cooked anyway), fresh fruit, juice and a very tasty Indian breakfast was available. The service was attentive, courteous and eager to please.
There are large gardens around the hotel, with a pool, though I never got to use it. The gardens have plenty of places to sit and relax, as do many if the rooms.
