A relaxing beach getaway or an exciting destination. As the only location in the US ever under the rule of 8 Flags, our island has been home to Pirates and the Prominent. Historic American Beach sits nestled in the dunes on the Southern End as home of the 1st African American Millionaire is the States, Mr A.L. Lewis. Just 1 mile north, accessible only by boat, the picturesque Cumberland Island features homes of the late Carnegie and Rockefeller Families.
