Nice hotel close to football stadium .

Very nice place to stay. Close to football stadium. Restaurant service is very slow after the game is over. Best to find somewhere else to eat. Water taxi picks you up just outside the hotel.

Aging hotel on riverfront

The price didn't match what I typically expect from a Double Tree. Great staff and room is decent, but the facility is aging and it shows. The rooms are poorly insulated - you can hear every hallway conversation and movement throughout the night. Also there is no service elevator so you're constantly competing for the elevator with the staff. Don't know that I'd pay this kind of money to stay here again.

Amazing

The hotel room I stayed in was amazing, amazing views of Jacksonville. I had two balconies on opposite sides of my room ( one overlooked the river and the other overlooked I95). I stayed in room 1010 and anytime I visit Jacksonville I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Nice hotel and nice river view

Nice location on the river. I wish there was a refrigerator in the room. Cheaper hotels has refrigerators but not this hotel. Parking is $12 per night!

Great and Not-So-Great

Pros: Food, most of the staff, pool was great!!!
Cons: Bathroom counter and mirror, valet service
I travel to Jacksonville a few times every year When I travel with my wife we typically stay at the Hyatt Regency. This time we tried DoubleTree. It is in a great location with nice river views. I liked the food in the restaurant, room service, maid service, dining service and the front desk. The pool is fantastic. What I didn't like was the bellman and valet service. When I arrived, they had only one bellman working and I loaded the cart and took my bags upstairs. I didn't mind and I saved the tip. When I called for my car no one was in the valet booth to take my call, ever. I never saw more than two valets working and one had an attitude. I had to walk to the front of the hotel, show them the number and wait for the car. It didn't take very long but there weren't many people in the hotel. I can't imagine how this works if the hotel is full. The Hyatt uses a texting system that is convenient and efficient. We stayed in a Jr. Suite. I like to size and spaciousness of the room but the bathroom had space issues. The sink had no counter - NONE. It had a small glass shelf and an even smaller recessed shelf. These spaces weren't nearly enough for the items we use at the sink. There was a table on the other side of the bathroom but it had no wall mirror or chair. I had to pull a small table for extra space.

Convenient to downtown venues

Nice hotel with a professional staff. A rusty Kureig and $12 daily parking on top of the room rate seemed excessive. Like dealing with the airlines and their fees. But I would stay again.
