"We normally stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton when visiting our granddaughter at U of M in Ann Arbor, MI. For this one night stay we decided to check out the Hyatt Place Ann Arbor since it was less expensive, and it also had an “exceptional” rating. Our experience was not “exceptional.” The original price had to be upgraded if we wanted an “upper floors” room. When we checked in there was an additional $10 fee to use their parking lot. The room was less than half the size of the suite at the Homewood and didn’t even have a microwave oven. Due to the rain my jacket got soaked. After ringing it out in the bathroom shower, I took it to the “guest laundry” and put it into the clothes dryer for a 45-minute, high heat cycle. Upon removing it I discovered there was no heat in the dryer, and my jacket was still wet. We will be staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton for all our future visits to Ann Arbor."

"It was an experience. Trash all over property,chairs in the parking lot ,broken glass in parking lot.No vanity mirror,shower light/fan..sounded like it was going to explode.Floor was so sticky, I wouldn't walk on it without shoes.Pillows looked like they were hit by a bus thankfully brought a couple.Bed,was like sleeping on various sizes of rocks,spring here,spring there,spring everywhere..Not sure if it was sheets tossed on it or large pillow cases.Tv worked,and so did remote...Heater/ac unit..did what it was supposed to,didn't sound happy doing it.."

"Absolutely awful. Booked on Expedia and trying to get a refund. Every negative comment about how the place smells, cleanliness, etc. is true. Needed to find a place unexpectedly and ended up not even being able to stay there. "
