Older hostel with a cool hippie vibe

Nice people. Older building in a side alley. Super comfortable queen size bed. Quiet. Nice desk greeting, easy. Right in the heart of the city, lots of transportation options, dining, bars, The sea.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shanti Hostel, and I couldn't be more delighted with my experience. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the fantastic breakfast prepared by Oze. The variety and quality of the food were simply outstanding. Oze's culinary skills aside, the warmth and friendliness displayed by the entire staff, especially Oze, added an extra layer of comfort to my time at Shanti Hostel. Oze went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. The genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable. The hostel itself boasts a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. The communal spaces were well-maintained, and the overall cleanliness of the hostel was commendable. I wanna thank all the employees in Shanti Hostel and see you soon

Staff was quite unpolite; seemed bored and annoyed. I was in Turkey 2 weeks, and started from Nevsehir / Cappadokia, and surely this Shantihome in Izmir was the worst of all my accommodations in Göreme, Konya, Isparta, Pamukkale and Selcuk. The breakfast was offered yet 9.30. The chef was really good and amazing, but the meals were at the end / finished about 10 o'clock. The shared kitchen was dirty...

The coordinator, Alegro, is a kind and helpful guy. He explains the rules clearly. The atmosphere is nice in general. The noise from the surrounding entertainment centers was extremely high during the night.

I highly recommend Shantihome. Wonderful, friendly, helpful dedicated people, excellent atmosphere, and the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, or close to it. And the breakfast is included in the price of accommodation. The only down-side is the noise from the street, because it's in the heart of an night-life district. However, for that problem I found ear-plugs to be a satisfactory solution.

Came just to stay the night. Place was smelly and there was lots of noise from outside. Only stayed here because it was the cheapest. Although the manager charges 100tl extra if you check-in after midnight (something that should be clarified in his ad).

The bed room and the bathroom isn’t clean enough And the neighbours (pubs or cafes) were playing music so loud until late so I couldn’t sleep comfortably. Better to make the walls thicker But Breakfast is for free and amazing

Hostel ist ca. 30 Min zu Fuss vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, wenn man eine Izmirkarte hat, kann man die Strassenbahn nehmen. Checkin und Einweisung waren einfach und klar, ich hatte ein Bett im 5 Bett Zimmer. Das Haus wird nur barfuss betreten. Das Hostel ist im Barviertel gelegen, perfekt zum Ausgehen, die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten hier dementsprechend teuer. WiFi funktioniert, es gibt heisses Wasser in der Dusche. Das Bett war sauber, es gibt keine Lichter an den Betten. Die Dachterasse ist etwas heruntergekommen. Es wird täglich gereinigt. Die Küche ist nur zu bestimmten Zeiten nutzbar, ich habe dort nur Tee gekocht. Das Frühstück war lecker und reichhaltig, sorgfältig zubereitet. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gepäckaufbewahrung möglich. Mir hat es hier sehr gut gefallen und ich würde es weiterempfehlen.
