They didn’t have my reservation anymore and the only room they offered was a smoking room that was in a weird section of the hotel and the room was not only stinky but dirty.

Cleanliness and secury was an issue during stay. “Non-smoking” room smelled like smoke and dirty mop water. Window was open (my guess) to air out the room when I entered the room. I could not close or latch the window closed. Front desk staff said no maintenance was on site at time and she felt she resolved my issue by slamming the window hard enough that it wouldn’t open although the latch was not secured. I was on the first floor. I asked if there were other rooms, there none available, for a full hotel there was never more than 10 cars in the lot at night. There an odd group of people constantly hanging out at the gazebo behind the hotel which is why I always took my belongs with me when leaving for the day. The town was busy with family weekend at one of the colleges so I could not find other accommodations. Nothing against the hotel is they provide emergency housing to locals but the lack of cleanliness alone is why I won’t stay here again. I went to Aldi and picked up cleaning supplies to get some of the stench off the floor. Hallway carpexrs…dirty as well. I’ve stayed at Econo Lodges in Montana that are way more comfortable than this location. The hotel across the street is not as modern as this place but I would take cleanliness and safety over modern any day. Not what I expected.

The service was friendly enough. The lobby and stairway/hallway was run down and shabby/dirty. The room itself however was large and comfortable and clean. Hard floors and nice beds. Good enough for our one-night stay.

This hotel is clearly used as a shelter for homeless people many of whom are mentally ill and have drug addictions. I saw people dragging large trash bags full of belongings and pushing empty shopping carts around the parking lot. Upon entering the building I saw a crying kitten trapped between a screen and window and was told that EconoLodge is a pet friendly hotel. I learned when I left after one hour that many cats and dogs live in the tiny rooms and are considered therapy animals. I am a recently retired educator who has worked with the prison population over the course of my career as they seek to turn their lives around. I am a compassionate individual but felt very uneasy and not at all safe at this facility. It is populated by people from the St Johns Community Center in downtown Ithaca unbeknownst to anyone who checks in. Only one other car from Florida was in the parking lot when I arrived This is not a hotel for weary travelers looking for a place to rest and relax. False advertising and a nightmare experience all around.

More homeless than guests in the hotel no breakfast only coffee an hot water no sugar no milk no nothing. and that’s all You don’t feel secure with so many homeless drug addicts around. I’m not coming back to this hotel

Terrible condition, stain /Mold everywhere. Dirty rooms, room window probably not cleaned in couple of years. Toilet bowl has lot of mold. Sink doesn’t drain water. Bath tub doesn’t drain water, its like you are standing in a pool. Nothing in this hotel is likable. Mold smell everywhere.

Not the Place to Stay
Did not stay, we could not check in as there was no staff anywhere to be found for over 30 min wait time. There was Mold and an oder, Major Helth concern!! Cancelled and went someplace else. Do not stay here - Run away do not walk!!!. Picture on web are mis leading. I would rather sleep in my car..
