Next to the beach, in pure nature
Loved the location, peace, nature, apartment, beach, pool... The reception staff was fantastic, helped to solve some issues that were importent to us.

Good location, some poor amenities
The hotel is more of a holiday camp with lots of apartments. The location is lovely and the pool is ok for this level of hotel. However, the shower facilities were poor with mimimal hot water which ran out quickly and no shampoo or shower gel provided, which is absolutely standard in any hotel.

I had a great view to the Adriatic Sea. The pool was great for the kids and the food at the restaurant was awesome. The staff was great as well.

Lovely clean apartment with wonderful sea views. Pool was great, downside you were charged for the sun beds around the pool, never had that before & strange as only the hotel guests are allowed to use the pool

Great, clean hotel with excellent kids club
We had a sea view room and the view was amazing! The room had everything we needed and was very clean. Overall the hotel is dated and appears in need of major maintenance and updating, but that didn't actually impact our stay. The ladies at the kids club *Ana and Nina I believe are their names* were great with the kids and our kids loved going there.

Nice coastal resort near to lots of attractions. Although it is a large resort the staff did try to give a personal touch.

Splendid resort apartment
Lovely, spacious and clean apartment with beautiful views of the Adriatic. It was worth paying extra for sea views. Lovely walks along the coast around the resort but lots of steps, so not disabled friendly. It is a very large resort so quite a distance to the reception and bus stops. Buses and taxis were not expensive and easy to use. Pool area was clean and well maintained. The shop on site sold basic essentials (make sure you check your change!!!). Overall, a peaceful resort with picturesque views.

Extra charge for sunbeds.
It is a nice place, but charging 40kn for a sunbed at hoteös own pool is a rip off. Also the staff was acting very rude at the bar. Also the maid just walked into the apartment even if some of us was sleeping and I was naked inside with the door locked. A scorpion also was found in our bathroom but other than that pretty ok value for money.

Was very disappointed when we checked in that we were charged for air conditioning! Then we went down to the pool because we couldn’t check in early and was shocked to be told that we had to pay for sun beds and umbrellas round the pool! When we got our key we was very happy with our apartment and we had paid extra for a sea view and the view from the balcony was exceptional. We ate at the pool bar and the sunset restaurant both of which were very nice. The shop is stocked well but expensive and one of the ladies working there was rude on several occasions and the grounds could do with a tidy up! We was there for a week and clean sheets would have been nice!

The balcony view is wonderful. The parking spots are too narrow. We had a compact car and the passenger could not get out when I parked between two cars. Also, there are a lot of steps!!! I realize it was built on a hillside, but this resort may not be for older, out-of-shape, or physically challenged people.

We were surprised to find that the apartment was lovely!!! There are many run down apartment buildings in the complex but the inside of the apartment although basic decor it was comfortable, bright and with an amazing view. The only downfall was that when it’s raining it’s very dangerous, I slept and fell on my knee and hurt it pretty bad! The floors are ceramic so very slippery.

The hotel is clean and tidy at all times, although needs lots of work to get it to be where it should be. We were originally in arena block and were very dissapointed to find that the 'panoramic view!' we booked was completely blocked by trees! We spoke to the site manager (Maria) who is lovely and were moved to splendid block - after a small hick up of being given the wrong keys by one number and opening the door to someone else's room!! Our new room was fantastic! Large open areas and high ceilings and a wonderful uninterrupted view of the sea. The pool area and pool bar are lovely and we ate food there many times. Don't bother going to the other restaurant further down the coast in the resort. It was tired and run down with staff wearing their own clothes not even in uniform, barely speaking English and cutlery that couldn't even cut butter! All in all we had a relaxing trip and it was very peaceful but do not expect it to look like the pictures!

Dirty, no room service, no toalet paper for few days of our stay. When staff finally remainnded about us toilet paper and towels were dumped on the kitchen table and the old one wasn’t collected. On Expedia the hotel have selected air conditioners and WiFi- you will be charged for air-condition and WiFi is very very bad available only in two places of the resort. I will suggest to use other website than Expedia as I was charged over £150 more than Expedia value our stay I Splendid and this is not the city tax and air-con. There were bugs in the room as well. I will not recommend the hotel and the website -will not use it again!

Unexpected fees!!
Run down and very old looking resort. The equipment in the room is poor, they didn't even provide a kettle/ toaster. Far from the city and the nearest supermarket is 30 minutes by foot. We booked a family room and were told at the reception if we wanted to choose the rooms with air-con, we had to be charged by head!? (It was 37 degrees)They also charge the deck chairs around the swimming pool. Not impressed with this resort at all. Would not recommend.

nice hotel overall. Self catering with small children was very useful. The beaches in Croatia are mostly rocky so bring along your watershoes. The room was clean and functional with a minimally kitted kitchen. A proper kettle would have been useful. A disappointment was that the A/C was additional.

We were part of a large party and were very lucky to have been allocated the better apartment. The complex is very old and tired and could do with an overhaul. Shocked to have to pay for sunbeds around the pool. Best staff were those serving in the cafe by the supermarket.

Great place.
Poor lighting, supermarket was only open 8 till 4 but hopefully this was because we were early season. This is not for people with disabilities as no stair rails to apartments , no ramps and no lighting. Lovely staff and very clean apartment, could not have been looked after any better! Pula well worth a visit, was recommended by other guests and had a lovely day out, should have stayed longer but had a prebooked taxi, needs a day to see all the history and enjoy all the sights and bars!

Hotel room was modern & clean but bed sheets were never changed or bins emptied. Maid left clean towels and a toilet roll on kitchen table every other day and that was the sum total of house-keeping provided. Although the rooms were nice, the outside areas were quite dangerous; lots of uneven stairs and paths and completely un-lit after dark. Totally unsuitable for disabled or limited mobility. No choice but to use these stairs and paths.

Beautiful Location - Good for the Money!
Beautiful Location, Friendly Staff in the restaurant and around the pool, the complex is very very large with different types of buildings and accomodation, we had rooms near to the pool with a balcony with panaramic views of the sea and the coast line. We were very lucky at the room allocation. The over all feel of the place is a little tired and there is lots of concrete but its charming all the same. The rooms we had were spotless and functional. If you go to croatia and you drink tea, take some with you.. there is none anywhere!

The apartment was big and nice with a huge terrace. The bed was not comfortable, the sheet and blanket did not go together well, either you woke up without blanket or sheet. And you needed to pay extra for uncomfortable sun chair without madness. Restaurant breakfast was nice, but don't buy a pizza, it was terrible!

This resort was extremely nice, and the apartment was big and well stocked. The people at reception were always helpful and respectful. The only problem I had was with the service in the restaurants. Some of the staff seemed like they would rather not be there and would ignore customers in order to talk to each other. Other than that, I really enjoyed staying here.

We stayed eight nights in Seaview room. View was magic. Reception staff were very friendly and very helpful. Restaurants were excellent value with great food choices and friendly staff. Would love to return again.

Great Location on the sea front but needs work
Great short break, Paid for what we got. Location is great, room was great but needs updating. Built in the 50s and looks it. Some apartments within the resort have been updated but the first block of rooms on the approach makes you want to turn around and look elsewhere! Once we opened the front door we were fairly impressed with the size of the place and the comfort. Nice little kitchen and a slight view of the sea (paid for a park view). Only big gripe is that your have to pay extra for the use of Air-conditioning and to use the beds waterside. This was not advertised so we used the rocks instead.

Lovely week on the Croatian coast
We had a lovely week in our apartment at Splendid. I was slightly apprehensive from some of the reviews I'd read before hand but for a 2 star rated property and considering the price compared to other places we looked at we were all really happy with our stay. The apartment was as pictured and a good size. The kitchen was well enough equipped to cook some meals when we wanted to. The beds were clean and comfortable, as was all of the apartment. We didn't use the swimming pool while we were there and chose to swim in the sea instead as it was crystal clear. The staff at reception were really helpful, polite and informative and helped us book trips and taxis. We ate at the pizzeria, snack bar and cafe which all seemed reasonable value to other places we ate at. There is also a normal bus service that runs along the main road Verudela and the Pula hop on hop off bus stops just near the complex too. There is a small but well stocked shop on site with all your basics and you can take a nice walk along Verudela up to the headland where there are more hotels, water activities and shops. If we were to go back to Pula and we were on the same budget, we'd go back and stay again.

The hotel was very clean and tidey. The staff were exceptional. They were always pleasant and helpful. They accomodated tour bookings and made some recommendations about sites to see in town as well as the general area. The location of the hotel was very good. Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and site seeing highlights.
