A neglected hotel with poor maintainence

Posted 5-Feb-2017
Pros: location
Cons: everything needs to be paid attention to. the hotel manager apparently runs manyhotels simultaneously and this place is not on his agenda
Location: easy access to sultanahmet and historical sites
Firstly no one knew where exactly the hotel was as the hotel phone was dead" it apparently has not been working for over a month ? unpaid bills. There was no staff and no breakfast as announced. No water- was once struck in the bath all soaped. No toileteries, no tea/coffee making facilities as claimed. The cleaning lady refused to clean when the room was occupied- she was always smoking and saw the manager just once- he wanted to strongly sell a holiday package tour.!! was not bothered about the complaints!! overall the hotel is bery nicely designed but poorly maintained. Definitely not a 4* hotel, ma a 2* at the most

Value for money hotel

Posted 31-Aug-2016 on Wotif
I couldn't find the hotel as it doesn't have a sign outside which was not good start. It's not 4 star as claimed but rather 2 star. It's near to blue mosque and has nice rooftop terrace. Breakfast is average with basic choices. But it's still worth it as I paid little compared to other nearby hotels for the stay during peak time

No lift lots of stairs inconvenience with children

Would not recommend this hotel because of the steep stairs and there was no water in the taps in the afternoon until they got it fixed.

Rightin the Heart of SultamAhmet

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Good experience over all. Room was good size and we the family of Five got adjusted very well. It is on a busy food street so noise could be an issue for some but we were so tired towards the end of the day that found no problem. Cleaning could be an issue for some too but as mentioned we were only using it for sleeping purpose after a long day. Mailik and Bunyamin the counter staff were very helpful with good city knowledge. If I go to Turkey again I would definitely stay there again.

PLEASE READ BEWARE - 1.5 start hotel at best

Posted 28-Nov-2015 on Hotels
Understand before you come to this hotel that it is a 1 or 2 star at best "hotel". The hotel was extremely difficult to find. There is no signage to find the hotel. It's a single door at the bottom of a stairwell. There's no lobby or amenities. Immediately upon entering my room it reeked of mildew. The bathroom is very small there is significant mold between the tiles in the shower. The flooring of the hotel is very worn and dirty. The shower leaks on the bathroom floor. The sink periodically clogged. The towels they provide are essentially rags that are falling apart. The TV is nonfunctional. As in it has a satellite receiver yet none of the channels work. The queen bed is two twin beds pushed together. I asked if I could be moved to a different room due to my room smelling like mildew and they wanted 1.5x what I paid for my room. The staff is basically nonexistent. The desk is not staffed. When I left my room I would return my key behind the desk. When I returned I would go behind the desk and get my key again. Anyone can walk in and out and use any key. My room was not cleaned when I return to my at 3:30 PM. When I finally tracked down the front desk person (who barely spoke any English) she had to track down the cleaning lady. The cleaning lady offered to clean it in 30 min when it was convenient for her. JUST UNDERSTAND AS I SAID EARLIER THIS IS A 1.5 STAR HOTEL. And I am someone who frequents hostels a lot.

Totally worth the price

It's a fine hotel. Do not come expecting the Ritz. It is on par with many tourist-class hotels in the rest of Europe, and has its quirks like so many.Lots of steep steps, so make sure you're able. The location is really amazing with tons of restaurants nearby. Not great for public transport, but easy walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and a bit longer walk to grand bazaar. Many other things walkable too, including squares, palace, waterfront, etc.
