disappointment
photos on line looked nothing like actual room. it was filthy, tiny, shower trickled water, dead bugs in sheets. however, most of the staff was quite friendly. sadly, it is not staff i will remember most. and i am not normally one to post negative comments, but this one...well, i feel i needed to speak up.

There was no television, they hadn't changed or made sheets, the curtains were ripped. The room wasn't ready or cleaned for our stay which was very disappointing. The only redeeming qualities were the location and the kind people.

The staff had been amazing. The best thing of the hostel.Would really recommend the place to anyone visiting the city. I’ve been lucky to stay here as aparently it’s the hostel with the best vibe in whole Istanbul. If you want to discover Istanbul night scene don’t miss the pub crawls on Wednesday. Great party and organisation. Breakfast included is very decent and views to the sea is a nice plus. The room was very clean and replacement of towels and soap every day. Few small cons; the lighting in the room was’nt great; felt really dark. Some common areas like the stairs are in poor condition. The hostel is facing a highway and the windows don’t insulate enough the noise and can be a little annoying.

A little worried going to such a small hotel but very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. It did have a little bit of a sewer smell at times, but I cant complain for the price and location.

Everything was good but we were expecting a little more on the breakfast side. Also it would have been good to have an electric kettle in the room. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and absolutely loved the view from the room!!

Beautiful, Cozy Hotel
Loved this hotel from the moment I walked in- located in a very safe neighborhood that I felt comfortable walking alone in at night and smelled wonderful! The room was INCREDIBLY clean, and furnished beautifully with a great view. The breakfast room, however, had the best view in the house, overlooking the Bosphorus. Friendly staff and great 2-night experience.

Hidden small Gem in Big Istunbul

Good location but terrible hotel
We had to change our room as the room was in a very bad condition. Stains on the bed sheet and wall. When they changed us in to another room, I was having a shower and the shower door came off... So bad The location is good and the hotel staff are pleasant however the owner needs to update the rooms ASAP as it's a health hazzard.

Good location and very helpful staff
The neighborhood was great for visiting all the mosques and museums in Sultanehmet. The hotel is an easy walk from the tram station. The room was a little worn with some soot on the wallpaper and some mold in the corners of the shower. Otherwise it was what we were looking for. We didn't need to spend much time in our room. The staff were very helpful, always willing to answer any question we had or fix any issues that came up. Breakfast was typical of a lot of Turkish breakfasts with an assortment of cheese, bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, jams, and juice.

Excellent service
Excellent services. Clean hotel but it could be better if the house keepers trained better. There are dust on the deck, window frame, mirror frame, bed frame. It seems the house keeper never wipe them off with wet cloth. I asked the hotel staff to clean them off and they did. The staff always try to make you happy by helping whatever you need. Location is good, walking distance to blue mosque, attraction, tourist area, restaurants and beach.

Nice hotel close to main attractions
The staff is incredible, they all make you feel just like home. The breakfast is excellent, from terrace you will see the Marmara Sea. 3 minute walk to Blue Mosque, and other attractions.

A very disappointing stay in an overrated hotel
When we arrived at the hotel, it looked nice and remodelled from the outside, reception and the corridors. However, when we got into our room, it all changed. Decor was very dated: furniture too big for the tiny room, very old and creaking. Curtains looked dirty... We booked a double room, but the beds were two singles pushed together, which was uncomfortable to sleep for 2 people. The bathroom was the nicest thing about the room. It was quite spacious and modern and seemed relatively clean. Later we discovered that there was a problem there too. Water from the shower cabin would not drain properly, so you had to stop the water running in order not to flood the bathroom! Quite frankly, this was very annoying, because the water flow was nice and strong, but you could not enjoy the shower. Also, if you were in the rush and wanted to shower one after another, that wasn't an option - water would take about 20mins to drain...We complained about this to reception 3 times, but nothing was resolved. Now onto the biggest problem: the terrace with a sea view, where breakfast was served. It was raining during our stay, so the terrace was literally flooded and it was absolutely freezing in there. We thought there was no way they would serve food in there, but they did. So every morning, we would have to put our jackets on to go have breakfast. Raindrops were dripping into some of the foodplates etc. You can only imagine! We only ate fresh bread and had a little coffee for 5 days!

Tasty breakfast and helpful staff but plumbing in the bathroom was not OK- bathroom was flooded after each shower! Towels were dirty! I would give it a rate of 3 from 5 overall!

Pleasant hotel in a great location
Hotel location perfect, on a nice quiet side street with a few other hotels and restaurants yet only 5 mins walk to the Blue Mosque. Room on the small size but this was expected, nice decor and great to have door opening onto balcony with a view of the Blue Mosque. Terrace breakfast room pleasant, breakfast selection varied enough to suit everyone, the young girl looking after this was super friendly and eager to please her guests.

Pleasant hotel close to the Blue Mosque
This is a nice hotel in the Sultanahmet area, close to the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Hagia Sofia. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the bed is clean and comfortable, and there's a good breakfast bay with views out over the Sea of Marmara.

The hotel did contact me after making the reservation to arrange transport from the airport which was good. The rooms were relatively clean but the humidity was high and there were a few spots of something that appeared to be black mold in the room. The room had a good view and the breakfast terrace had an excellent view of the Bosphorus. Noises in the hallway or on the terrace could easily be heard in the room, which coupled with the use of the terrace for parties and meetings made sleep sometiimes difficult. It was an easy walk from the hotel to the Hippodrome and other sites. The staff could communicate in English but were far from fluent. The bed was not particularly comfortable in my opinion.

Charming find!
Staff were wonderful - we came in earlier than we had told them, the staff took us upstairs and let us sit on their beautiful balcony with some tea and coffee while our room was prepared. Anything we needed help with like tips on where to go/eat or printing, they were more than happy to help. The most incredible part was when we were leaving, the owner of the hotel happened to be there and offered to drive us to the airport as he was heading out that way. Absolutely kindness beyond words and sent us on our way with some hamam towels as gifts. Couldn't recommend it more.

Cozy hotel with convenient location
Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. They were nice enough to upgrade us to the Garden Suite when we got there...the downside was that it was located next to the kitchen though so we could hear moderate noise right outside our room throughout most nights. Would definitely recommend for the modern feel, cleanliness and convenient location, but avoid the Garden Suite in the lower floor if you are a light sleeper.

Very nice hotel! Very close to major historical places, nice and secure area, friendly staff. The room was clean, the bathroom spacious, every day being cleaned. The breakfast is nice and the view of its location, on the top floor, is beautiful, facing the sea. Istanbul is a great city and I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! Enjoy it!

Comfortable stay, convenient location
My partner and I recently stayed at the Bucoleon Palace Hotel for a week. The room and bathroom were on the small side, but was very comfortable nonetheless. Room had a lovely view of Sultanahmet and surrounding neighborhood. Hotel and room were always very clean and well maintained, and breakfast was good--served on the top floor terrace. Conveniently located also in Sultanahment, just a 7 minute walk to Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Staff were also very friendly and helpful when needed. Would definitely stay again if I get another chance to visit Istanbul!

We truly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's very convenient to all the historical locations and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing about the hotel is that the room are a little tiny but it should not be a problem if you are not going to spend lot of time at the hotel....Excellent hotel!

Great Local Hotel
This hotel was a great find. The hotel is in excellent condition and looks very cute nestled in a local area. The terrace has an amazing view of the Maramara Sea, and is one of the best I saw of all hotels in Istanbul. The staff was very good, limited English speaking, but nothing I would not expect for being a locally owned hotel. They went above and beyond our exceptions, managing cabs and reservations for us. Finally the price is great! I recommend this hotel to anyone, it is a nice, local hotel that is a only a 10 minute walk from the major sites. And the walk takes you through a nice scene...Not the mention the local hookah spot just a few doors down!

Excellent small hotel in Sultanhamet
Excellent small hotel within walking distance of the most important sites in Sultanhamet. Hotel is rather new which means the room and bathroom were sparkling clean! Beds were very comfortable. Room was small, but that is usually the case in a major city. There was a safe in the closet for valuables. Breakfast on the top floor, overlooking the sea, was very nice and more than ample. Upon checking in, you’re offered coffee and cake. Staff was very kind and always helpful. Travelled around Turkey for 3 weeks and returned again to this hotel at the end of our trip. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nice small hotel close to attractions yet off the beaten path-
We spent a few days at Bucoleon Palace in April and overall were very satisfied with our experience. The tiny staff is extremely attentive, courteous, and efficient. The rooms are small but comfortable, the bathroom was clean and complete with western comforts. The location of the Hotel is close to most of the touristy attractions in Istanbul, they're all walkable and we never found ourselves more than a 10 minute walk from the hotel when we are out visiting attractions are hitting some of the local nightlife scene (what little there is) that exists as you get a little further away from the mosques. One thing we learned was that if you're young and want to experience Istanbul's real nightlife, stay in Taksim Square (other side of the Galata Bridge). We stayed there the last few nights of our time in Istanbul and loved it. All the major attractions are still walkable (30 min walk) but the scene is much younger and laid back. Overall we were happy with the hotel. I'd reccomend it if you're planning on hitting the main bullet points of Istanbul and want everything to be close. If you're younger and want to experience the non touristy side of the city, I'd say find a nice hotel south of Taksim Square and walk to the attractions by day.

a hotel with potential if....
I have chosen this hotel after researching it at different forums. I appreciate the rate and the location of the hotel. However, many minor things can be improved to make the stay more enjoyable. First of all, there is lots of construction going on in the neighbourhood, it's definitely something to keep in mind if you want to have an early night or pleasant evening in. On Saturday night, the drilling from the neighbouring house carried on until 12.30 a.m. Yes, on early Sunday morning after being asked at least 2 times to put an end to it at 10 pm. But the most disappointing bit was when we were overcharged 10 euros for the minibus transfer to Gockcen airport when the receptionist enthusiastically offered to book 2 tickets for us and charched us 15 euros, 5 euros per person extra then the normal flat rate. I know 10 euros is not a big deal, however I feel that such behaviour is unnecessary and unprofessional in the 4 star hotel. There is a flat charge of 10 euros by the airport transfer company and they come to pick you up directly from the hotel. Overall, location is definitely a winner, for everything else you make your own conclusion.

Hotelin temizliği daha iyi olabilir.Yardımcı olmaya çalışırlar. Konakladığınız odadan odaya otelin özelikleri değişiyor. Deniz manzaralı odalarda konaklama şansını bir kez yakalayabildim;ondan sonra sokağa bakan odalardan birinde kalırsanız hayal kırıklığı oluyor. Sultanahmet meydanına yakınlığı fena sayılmaz.
