Good about this hotel - Location - Excellent as you are close to the main sights and a tram stop is 2 minute walk away. Facilities/Services - Lift available which was very useful, laundry, breakfast and arranging travel. Service - Most of the receptionist staff spoke English and were very helpful with arranging excursions or anything we needed help with. They almost always had someone at reception too. Roof - Nice view of the Blue Mosque and a lot of the city. Price - Better value than the hotels that are supposed to be competing with this hotel. Bad about the hotel - Rooms - The bathrooms were VERY small. Facilities - There was very low water pressure in the bathrooms, the lowest in any hotel i've ever stayed at. The AC was also quite weak. Some rooms appeared to have a newer AC and different showerhead which compensated a tad for the low water pressure. They also didn't have a do not disturb hanger to hang outside the door, so if you were napping after a long walk you would be woken up by the cleaning staff unless you told reception in advance. Also, if you were staying on the first floor, you hear a lot of sound inside and outside of the hotel. Overall review - If you are on a budget, honestly this is a hotel I would stay at again if I was on a tight budget. It's better than a lot of the hotel which are competing with it in terms of price range.

Maybe it was not the luxurious or the top modern hotel I stayed in but fortunately, it was on of the best in terms of location, cleaning, staff, amenities, etc. Highly recommended !

My stay wasn't very pleasing i was put in a very small room . I wasn't comfortable at all there was alsot of sounds from the next door business building and the noise of the cans woke me up during the night. It wasn't pleasant at all .

The hotel location is great, surrounded with many restaurants, shops and most of historical places at the middle of the old town. but the room size was shocking, it's about 14 square meter for three persons. knowing that when I reserved this room it was written 20 square meter. otherwise, the staff were friendly and great.

Staff very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast is included in the price. However, the rooms are small and the bed is only a double. The bathroom is very small and the bathroom fittings could do with an overhaul. The location is just about as good as it gets being a two minute walk from the Sultanahmet centre. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is located in a street parallel to sultnahmet station (which is very known and near ayia sophia) and next to lots of small grocery stores and mostly restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They gave us lots of advices and tips for our trip. Overall cleanliness is good. They give you towels and can clean your mess everyday. But could be better regarding bedsheets, bathroom.. The breakfast is fine for what are you paying. Savory and sweet food available with your choice of coffee, milk, juice, tea... i hope this would help

The location of the hotel is excellent – a couple of minutes walk to the Sultanahmet tram stop, and within five minutes you can reach the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The staff members are very helpful and courteous. However the size of the bedrooms lets the hotel down. We booked a standard double room, and it was very small. The room had a small wardrobe, a small TV on the screen (no international channels), two bedside cabinets, a small minibar fridge and a double bed. Finding a place in the room to put our suitcases and shopping bags so we wouldn’t be falling over them was quite a struggle. The toilet/shower room is also quite small. The breakfast options could do with more diversity – perhaps a continental breakfast offering along with the Turkish offering they already have. In a nutshell, for location and staff I’d give it 8-9 out of 10. For the room and breakfast, 4-5 out of 10. However, the price we got for our stay was very good. So I guess, you get what you pay for.

reasonably priced hotel in old town
Hotel ok for one or two nights. But don't go if you have any accessibility issues. Lift very small and the breakfast is only available from a room reachable only from a very narrow spiral staircase.

We booked this placing after reading the reviews online. We have stayed at other budget hotels in the past and had really positive experiences. This place was not so great. The location was the best thing about this place. Minutes away from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and lots of shops. When we arrived the place has changed its name and confused our taxi driver about where to drop us. The place is quite old and worn out. The pictures online were very deceiving of what the hotel actually looks like. The rooms were very small and grotty. The walls of the rooms were really thin so you could hear people all night. The people in the room next door were smoking and we could smell the smoke in our room. The hotel is called a boutique hotel but I would say its far from that. The breakfast was cold every morning as there no heated trays for the food. The Turkish breakfast was very basic. We were really looking forward to the infamous Turkish breakfast. We ended up eating breakfast outside of the hotel most days. I think this place may have been nicer when it first open but I wouldn't say it is anymore. Having been to Istanbul before I think you can get other budget hotels that are of a much better standard and quality and I would not stay here again.

Great Hotel @ Great Location!
I have now stayed at this hotel 5 times. This used to be Aladdin Hotel but the ownership changed recently and it's now called Hotel Aldem. I didn't give it the best rating at check-in as I found a few things out of order. But I must say that within a day or so the staff had everything fixed and I was impressed with the response and effort. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again myself.

Nice Hotel Excellent Service
The hotel's location is very close to sultanahmet mosque, hagia sophia, topkapi, tramvay station. The hotel is small, cozy, very clean, lots of choice for breakfast, the view from the top terrace directly overlooking sultanahmet mosque, all the receptionist is very good, very friendly people from the kitchen. I am very grateful to Erdal receptionists, who always taught how to go somewhere with tramvay public transport, metro and bus, he takes care of my trip to Trabzon and take care of my pickup. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great Option for Lodging!
This was my third time staying at the Aladdin. I love this little hotel the location is perfect in the heart of SultanAhmet very close to the Blue Mosque, Haagia Sophia and all! Its also very close to the SultanAhmet Tram station! The breakfast is amazing and the terrace is a bonus! I highly recommend it and plan to stay there in future too.

I stayed in a single room for 3 nights, it was a perfectly reasonable hotel, fantastic location, loads of nearby restaurants, shops and the historic attractions. Very helpful and friendly staff, I would definitely stay again.

A Great Deal!
This hotel was a great deal for the price. My single room was small but comfortable. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was fine, nothing to complain about there. The location is superb for tourists, since it's near the major tourist attractions and just a few steps away from the Sultanahmet tram station and the Marmaray Station.

Very closed to several top monuments in Istanbul (ex:blue mosk,St,Sophie) and to public transportation. Too many restaurant which are tourist trap but few nice exceptions I found in lonely planet, The staff at the hotel are very helpful.

It was very pleasant experience although had problems with the wi-fi connection but just for a few hours, a/c was not working properly...free breakfast was excellent....it is located in the sultanhamet area which is the most touristic un istambul...great place great price I would stay there again!
