The place was clean and in a quiet residential neighborhood. There are several excellent restaurants within a few minutes of driving distance. We spent a day at the Heckscher State Park beach, which is nearby. We were planning to visit the Bayard Cutting Arboretum but couldn't because it started raining. It is conveniently located to many shops, restaurants, and freeway access. Apartment is small, but thoughtfully decorated and stocked with anything one may need. Our flight came in very late and we had no trouble finding or getting into our apt. Very clean and well maintained . Plenty of hot water for showers . The host was quick to respond with any questions. I have family in Islip so I’ve stayed at two other rentals in the area and this was by far the best. It is in a modest neighborhood of homes that are well taken care of. It is also nice knowing you have a dedicated parking spot. The best part of the stay for me though was the quiet. The only thing that woke me up in the morning were the birds. I’m hoping the apartment is available the next time I’m in town. ##### Michelle W. This was the first time that we stayed in a VRBO and we were very pleased. The apartment was exactly as advertised and located in a quiet neighborhood. We walked into a very clean apartment that was stocked with all of the essentials we would need for our stay (i.e., dishes, utensils, towels, linens, etc.). In addition, the host thought of stocking it with a few extras, such as flavored coffee and tea k-cups for the Keurig, curling iron, and some snacks and bottled water. Our host was great! We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. We were up in the area of my brother’s engagement party. It is in like a shared multi family house but we never once heard the other tenants. It was exactly as pictured online. The futon was pretty comfortable too! The real bed was also great. The host, Scott, was also extremely responsive. My only negative thing to say is that it did not have a cookie sheet, but we bought a foil one to use which was totally fine. They even had a whole drawer of spices & oil/vinegar to use! It had a single bedroom with plenty of space, even after two suitcases were opened all over the floor. The living room area, kitchen and bath were clean and had ample room for our family of three. My favorite part was the secluded back patio area. The seating area, fire pit and cafe lights were the perfect spot to have coffee in the morning and read a book in the evening. The kitchen was stocked, unlike most rentals we’ve stayed in. There was coffee (with creamer and sweeteners), snacks and waters available to us when we got there. As well anything needed for cooking, including spices. Our host was more than accommodating, reaching out several times to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay.
