Located just a few miles west of the Continental divide and the Montana/Idaho border this home is strategically located to place your group of travelers as close to Yellowstone Park as possible yet still enjoy the serenity and beauty of Island Park. This home features 4 large private bedrooms with queen beds, a large open loft area with two more queen beds, 3 full bathrooms with tub/shower combos, 2 living areas-one up and one down with flat screen TV, a large open kitchen and dining area, as well as a laundry room with large capacity front loading washer and dryer. There is a covered porch on the front of the home and a large open deck on the back of the house opening up to U.S. Forest service land as far as you can see. The home has been adorned with high end hand made furniture and decor selected exclusively for a Yellowstone outpost. The bedroom furnishings including the beds were made from reclaimed lumber rescued from the Mcrea Ranch right here in Island Park. The wood has been delicately restored beyond its original glory to create a rustic yet warm and cozy Yellowstone atmosphere. The living and dining room furniture was made from rare burled lodgepole which was also locally harvested. All of the cabinets and vanities are done up in Alder and topped off with granite. There is a free standing gas fireplace as well as heaters in every room for individual climate control. The home is fully stocked with linens, towels, extra blankets, laundry soap, and many extras in case you forget something. The outdoor firepit comes with plenty of firewood. We always keep coffee and all the mixing on hand, as well as spices for all your cooking needs. The home sits on a half acre lot providing ample space to gather outside for some barbequing or sitting around the firepit. If your feeling adventurous head out the back door for a hike through the forest. This cabin is perfect for some quiet introspection time. It is inviting , comfortable and clean. You'll find the home well appointed and thoughtfully decorated. With summer crowds growing larger and the need for social distancing at an all time high you'll be glad you have the advantage of beating the crowds to get into the park in the morning. Bighorn Hills Estates definitely has the pole position in the race to Yellowstone. And in the evening after a full day of adventure you'll be glad once again that you were able to relax and recoup in this warm and charming piece of Yellowstone real estate. Cooking and BBQ are important for us on these trips. The kitchen was fully stocked with all needed appliances and they have a brand new outdoor grill. The owner/manager was very responsive to any inquiries or needs we had during our week long vacation. Location was the number one reason -- very close to West Yellowstone and the park, and also a few cool nearby state parks. The kitchen was fully stocked and the decor was charming and comfortable. We made nightly use of the fire pit in back and it was awesome having no neighbors and lots of wildlife right in the backyard. in any rental, there are things that need to be fixed, but they were relatively minor and in no way diminished our experience. We all love the house the location the amount of rooms the hot tub- everything! It was very rustic with its decor. Kitchen very well stocked. I can’t say enough- it was the coolest house! We came in late with grill-ready foods to cook and were unable to do so. Also, there were wall heaters that had no clear instructions (since we are not from an area of the country that has these) so we weren’t sure of timers, temps or if they turned off automatically. The location to the West Gate is so close & Old Faithful is less than an hour away! This cabin is as close as you can get to the West Gate without staying in the park! Jared & Monica are super amazing hosts who made sure we had everything we needed to have a fabulous time. We used the Spa & we spent 2 nights outside making s’mores at the campfire! We will definitely recommend this home to everyone! It’s huge! The 11 of us never felt crowded. We also saw the local Fox and the deer out back! Thank you Jared & Monica! We wanted to be close enough to Yellowstone, but not in the hubbub of downtown. The house was big enough to spread out and we never felt cramped. Having 3 bathrooms was a plus since there were kids. The silverware needs to be replenished, as there were not enough place settings. Also, some of the pans need to be replaced because the coating is coming off. Almost forgot, the hot tub was a big hit. Open the windows and remember to go out at night and gaze at the stars! All and all I would stay here again. ##### Lori Beth J. The location made it easy to get anyplace fast. The owners were very easy to work with and had great communication with us. We are happy with our choice and would definitely stay again. ##### Tim S. Had everything we needed to make our Yellowstone trip wonderful. Wish we had been able to book it on the back end of our trip! Would 100% return to this location. We used the fire pit area one evening and small grizzly made an appearance at the edge of the forest and we watched it safely from the deck.
