LAKE VIEWS, STOCKED POND, 18 MILES TO YNP We call our home Valhalla Ranch as an ode to my father, the ultimate Viking of our family, because this was his heaven. We encourage you to bring your family and enjoy one of Island Park, Idaho’s most sought after locations. Our beautiful cabin is set back on its own private paradise of 26 majestic acres with its own private pond and stream. We stock the pond with rainbow trout making fishing one of the children's favorite activities. Valhalla's magnificent views will have you mesmerized for hours gazing at Henry’s Lake, one of the top fishing lakes in the country, or scouring the mountainside for wildlife that migrate through the area. And the best part is that the house is just 14 miles from the gates of Yellowstone National Park! We offer a spacious 5860 square ft home with four private bedrooms, an open sleeping loft as the 5th bedroom, and three bathrooms for the comfort and convenience of up to 12 guests. All linens are provided for your stay. There is a mini split in the kitchen/dining area as well as one in the primary suite, both providing heat and AC when needed. There are fans in the living room, kitchen/dining area and the two main floor bedrooms. Both the Loft and the main floor bedroom have portable AC units. The downstairs bedrooms stay much cooler in July/August and have floor fans if you need them. Our open floor plan provides wonderful spaces for families to gather. The large living room, with floor to ceiling windows, is the perfect spot to enjoy the incredible views, watch television, or read and play games. The large kitchen is well stocked and has lots of room for all of the chefs in your group. Enjoy fixing a home cooked meal with family and friends in this well-appointed kitchen or barbecue steaks on the outside grill on the back patio. The dining room seats 8 with additional seating for 4 at the bar. Outdoor dining is encouraged on the expansive wrap around deck. Enjoy a rousing game of billiards in the downstairs family room or play ping pong in the "kids room". A laundry room with full size washer and dryer are available for your convenience with all supplies provided. Our outdoors is what sets Valhalla Ranch apart from the rest. Imagine wading in a private stream while watching eagles soar overhead. You will never feel closer to Heaven on Earth than at our little slice of paradise. Valhalla has Direct TV and a very good reception. Cell phone coverage is excellent. Although we only stayed for four nights, we had a great time, cooking meals in the spacious kitchen and playing games on the front lawn. We also caught a few trout in the small pond! We drove into Yellowstone a couple of days and stocked up on supplies in West Yellowstone. Enjoyed great birdwatching from the expansive deck and the lake view of course never gets old. After hearing the elk bugle here and there for a few days, we finally got to watch a herd on the mountains behind the house. The property is a lovely respite and worth the little extra time to stay outside the park and be able to do your own cooking and laundry! We came to visit Yellowstone and of course that was incredible but the entire family had the best times just hanging out at the property. There were lawn games, we caught fresh trout in the private pond, (delicious BBQ) the pool table was a big hit and so many cozy places to just sit and enjoy the views. The property and house are absolutely beautiful. The view was stunning. It was close to Yellowstone and the things we wanted to do. Our kids had a blast with the games and activities in the house. The house was equipped with every possible thing you could need for cooking. Cellular reception worked well. The property owner/manager Rosalyn was very helpful and accommodating. Honestly our experience at Valhalla was as perfect of an experience as anyone could expect. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend Valhalla to anyone that is looking for an amazing place to stay near Yellowstone. ##### Shane D. This home and its surrounding beauty left my family and I in awe. Pictures can't capture how truly beautiful it is. A trip to Yellowstone National Park led us to booking this property since it is only 14 miles from the West Gate/Entrance. All the comforts of home away from home. We had a great time bonding and taking in the breath taking sceneries/landscape of this home. We even saw some mule deer in backyard. House set up perfectly as did the surrounding yard and area. All meals were prepared and eaten on premises. We did purchase our food in Idaho Falls which had a wider selection. We were thankful of having such a nice home to stay as Y'stone was closed for most of our time. Another reminder of planning for the unplanned events. ##### rick r. The views were simply amazing, but then the house itself was beyond compare. Everyone from our group wants to leave their mundane existences back in the real world behind, and move to Valhalla! Not to be glossed over also the property manager was very helpful. I made a special request of some ski poles to use to walk longer distances in the park due to a muscular disorder. Not only did they come yup with one pair, they had two! One of them definitely worked better than the other, and I was off and running (or slowly walking actually). Thank you again for a stay that will be very difficult to top. ##### Jerome C. Jul 9, 2017 #### Spectacular House This is a beautiful house that was plenty spacious for our family vacation to Yellowstone. The kitchen was well-equipped. The grandkids turned the upstairs loft into their "clubhouse". The adults enjoyed games of pool, and the front yard was just right for a couple games of family kickball. The view from the deck is spectacular. Only negatives to us is that the house could use a half bath and we wished it were a little closer than the 20 minute drive to Yellowstone. Yellowstone is such a large place that some nights it took us 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get back to the house. But overall, this was just an incredible house for an incredible vacation. ##### Ken M. The house was immaculate and saying it's well-stocked is an understatement. Lots of nice touches too...huckleberry jam and honey with welcome note, pop-up puppet theater for kids, etc. Plenty of room to spread out and have your own space if needed. View is spectacular and pictures are accurate. Kids had fun fishing in pond and playing frisbee golf (nice lawn in front of house for games). I wasn't sure about staying outside the park as it's 15 minutes to YNP entrance and then add whatever you are visiting, so it can be a long ride. We went into the park 3 of the 4 days. But the house made it worth it and there's plenty of wildlife to look at along the way. Rozalynn was quick to answer any questions and you can tell the owners take pride in Valhalla. Jun 15, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Heaven in one word: Valhalla. 3 generation family trip to celebrate 50th anniversary and 70th birthday. This home was absolutely perfect. Comfortable and spacious with such a welcoming feel. We enjoyed a day trip to Yellowstone. West Yellowstone Grizzly center was a big hit too. ATV rentals to Sawtelle Peak and Big Springs was super fun. Mesa Falls was a gorgeous trip with picnic at Warm River to include wading and fishing. We all enjoyed the many hours we spent at the cabin. Playing cards. Shooting pool. Badminton and croquet outdoors. The kids watching movies in the loft. Cooking and eating meals together in the incredible kitchen. Honestly I think we all could have spent the entire time right there at Valhalla. All ten of us, from age 6 to age 70 unanimously give this lovely home 5+ stars. Perfect. ##### Benita C.
