Close to Yellowstone! Henry’s Lake Haven is a brand new vacation rental cabin that's in a perfect location for enjoying Yellowstone Park, Henry’s Lake State Park, and all of the amazing outdoor activities available in Island Park, Idaho! This 1325 sq. ft., 3 bedroom / 2 bath cabin sleeps 6 comfortably and is only 18 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone Park, a scenic drive that takes less than 20 minutes. It’s also only a quarter mile from Henry’s Lake State Park, a world class trout fishing lake. Enjoy several miles of hiking trails in the park with a trailhead just a short distance from the house. Tucked down a dirt road in a quiet neighborhood, Henry’s Lake Haven is a wonderful place to relax and look for wildlife. The views from the front of this house are spectacular and encompass small wetlands, Henry’s lake, and Black mountain. The very large 580 sq. ft. deck is a perfect spot to sit with family and friends. Fox kits play in the yard in spring. Sandhill cranes, bald eagles, pelicans, gulls, ducks, osprey, and bluebirds are often flying overhead. Moose and swans are seasonally seen. If it gets a bit buggy out relax indoors on comfortable couches with screened windows and beautiful views. The entire family will enjoy this location. The area has an abundance of wildlife and depending on the season you may see antelope, elk, bear, moose, and many other varieties of animals. Lake access is walking distance (park pass may be required) and you can fish from the shore. Hiking trails bring you to the slough, where trumpeter swans nest in the spring. The park has a boat launch if you bring your own boat or you can rent one from several places nearby. The lake is known for incredible trophy sized trout and has cutthroat, cut-bow, and brookies. Excellent stream fishing can also be found in the nearby Henry's Fork and Madison rivers. Inside, the tasteful decor is inviting. The furniture is comfortable. The great room contains a spacious and well-equipped cook’s kitchen, a dining table that seats 6, and a living area with a cozy gas fireplace, leather furniture, and a 65" TV. The comfortable master bedroom has a king size bed and an adjoining bathroom with a large shower and separate tub. Two other bedrooms have queen size beds and there is a second full bathroom. Fast WIFI allows you to stream video from Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and more, using your accounts to the TV. If you’re looking for a comfortable home base for exploring Yellowstone and enjoying the great outdoors with your entire family, you’ll love our Haven! There are lots of other day trips to choose from, including Teton National Park, Mesa Falls, Harriman State Park, the Red Rocks Lakes nature preserve (a bird watchers dream), and more. Spent all night killing them. The bedsheets had dog hair in them even tho we chose a place that doesn’t allow animals since someone in our group is allergic and the sheets should have been cleaned anyways. The host refunded us 50 for having to wash the sheets that night just to be able to sleep in them. AC didn’t work but couldn’t open the window cause we already had enough bugs inside the house to deal with. Horrible smell coming from the main bathroom. Thought something died in there. There was old food crumbs on the table, counter and couch. Next morning we cleaned up dead bugs from the counter and dishes which they seemed to die on overnight and vacuum the floor to get up any bugs and food crumbs. One of the hosts came by and apologized and personally cleaned the toilet which was dirty also. He said it seemed like his cleaning lady hadn’t come by in between guests. It feels like we should have been compensated more than 50 but whatever. Kitchen was large and included all needed cookware, spices, nonstick spray and oils. Owner had a water cooler and supply of bottles. Plenty of seating inside and out. Full tank of gas for the grill. No issues with appliances or washer/dryer. Great location (about 15 minutes to Yellowstone west entrance and town of West Yellowstone; 30 minutes to Mesa Falls; about 2 hours to Grand Teton NP; 1.5 hours to Idaho Falls airport). Walking distance to Henry’s Lake and great local walking trail. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked with everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal—just under 30 minutes to the West Yellowstone entrance, which made daily trips to the park easy. The directions to the house were clear and easy to follow.One of the absolute highlights was the breathtaking view of the lake—truly stunning both during the day and at night. Stargazing was incredible with minimal light pollution. We also loved the nearby trail to the state park; it was just a short walk and offered a peaceful, scenic experience.Overall, the stay was relaxing and pleasant. Even saw moose and deer from the front porch. Only about 20 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance which was perfect for us. The surroundings are beautiful, the wildlife is plentiful. During our stay, we saw 6 moose, fox,and several birds. We used the house as home base for our day trips to Yellowstone. We also drove to Ennis, which is a very nice town, and enjoyed lunch there. In closing I highly recommend Henry’s Lake you won’t be dissatisfied. ##### Tamara F.
