"Check in staff was amazing, rooms are basic lacking mirrors I had to wait for my husband to get out the shower for me to do my hair & makeup there’s no ventilation in the bathroom. You will sweat when getting ready in the bathroom. The electricity shut off random causing delays in getting ready due to no lights to see. I did my makeup while lights were flashing to save time and get to appointments on time. Dirty comforters eww needs to work on better cleanliness it smells like mold throughout. "

"Overall, the property is a wonderful value. The pool is very large, clean, and well-maintained. You have a nice ocean view from your patio, and it's protected from the east wind, which can be very strong at times. The balcony itself is not protected from the wind, but it has gorgeous views of the ocean. The beds are very stiff. Some of the furniture is a little aged, but everything is in working order. Very adequate water pressure and plenty of hot water. We've stayed on Sandy Hill before and really like the centralized location. All beaches are accessible with only a short drive. There's a grocery store within a short 5-minute drive. Sandy Hill Bay has a very nice, quiet beach. You will need reef shoes to access. But it's one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island. We would not hesitate to book this property again. You will need a rental car if you book this property. "

"We had delays getting to the island and when we got to the villa it was dark and had to call to ask where the lockbox was. It also looked like someone was using the villa before we got there because it was not totally clean. Sand on the Ping-Pong table, crumbs in the toaster oven and microwave, and the kitchen counter was sticky. The bathroom was clean, but the mold and peeling paint was not very inviting. I was surprised that the grounds were not maintained. The grass had not been cut in weeks, vegetative litter abounded, and the goat droppings on the walkway to the pool was not inviting either. The furniture on the covered porch looked inviting, but we found out, unfortunately, that some of it was dry rotted because my wife sat on one of the chairs and it collapsed. Fortunately, she was not badly injured! In short, the villa in general looked "tired" and in need of sprucing up on the part of the owners. While we had no children with us, the ability to not close the gate to the 'beach' could have been a problem if a child wandered down to the water. One bright spot was Dorothea who was wonderful. Beds are very comfortable and the AC was great for sleeping. The nearby construction was unfortunate, but we don't hold that against the site. Beautiful views of St. Martin, and while the water was rough, the sound of the surf was very soothing and calming."

"Spa is very unique since the spa structure was brought over seas from Thailand. The hotel’s rum room is special. Rooms are well equipped with complimentary beverages and all rooms are ocean front or ocean view. Very spacious. Make sure you book a free breakfast with your accommodations.. otherwise breakfast is very expensive. "

"This is a truly perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet Caribbean vacation. The unit is clean and very well-appointed. The is a nice large balcony to relax on and look out at Shoal Bay. The tradewind breezes made it a perfect spot. It is a short walk to the beach which is among the softest sand I've ever been on. A walk down the beach leads to several beach bars & restaurants, which is very convenient and each had wonderful food. I can't say enough great things about this property. We would love to go back!"
