For nature enthusiasts, Shotley Peninsula offers an array of scenic walks and bird-watching opportunities as well as beach areas. The nearby Shotley Marina is a hub for boating activities with a bar/restaurant and there is also another pub overlooking the water. You can even take a foot ferry to the neighbouring towns of historic Harwich or Felixstowe. A pleasurable walk along the river bank to Pin Mill is a delight. When you’re ready to explore, there are plenty of attractions nearby to keep you entertained. The historic town of Bury St Edmunds is well worth a visit and the best way to explore is to take part in a town trail. No visit to Suffolk is complete without a trip to the stunning Suffolk coast. A trip to the traditional town of Southwold, home to Adnams Brewery is the perfect way to spend a day with its independent shops and restaurants. Close by is Aldeburgh where you will find the famous fish and chip shop, get there early as it is very popular.
