The uniqueness was the 2 rough coated Jack Russells and kind Proprietors. A pleasure to stay at a motel with kind owners rather than staff.

We had the best stay at Colonial on Tay. Denise was so lovely and helpful, the rooms were beautiful and the beds support comfortable. Would love to stay again

We booked this property last minute and were very pleasantly suprised. The rooms felt clean, no strange smells and the staff were friendly. If we were going to Invercargill again we would definitely stay here.

Really enjoyed our nite here, the rooms were spotless, and the bed and linen were the best we’d been in all year, the staff were very helpful, if we have go down there again, this is where we’d stay

We prioritise a comfortable, safe & quiet environment for our guests. We do not allow any guest providing unauthorised unacceptable services from our Motel complex.

Very comfortable accommodation with separate rooms
Very comfortable accommodation with separate bedroom, kitchen and lounge room – a rarity with many motels - giving the place a ‘homely’ feel. Great for the business traveller who wants a little home comfort and not wanting to eat out very night. Along with friendly management and good arrangements for late check makes Colonial on Tay a must for my next business trip to Invercargill.

A comfortable motel to stop at.Quite and had a good nights sleep.Owner was helpful .As it was the first games of the rugby World Cup we were very happy when he informed us that he had put in the spark app so we were able too watch the games live.Did not expect that

The owner Alec is very accommodating, kind, professional and flexible. He goes above and beyond to ensure all of his guests have their individual needs met whilst considering the well being of all the guests. Convenient location, personalised service. Pillows were amazing!

The property was clean and close to town. Unfortunately it was quite a basic, brick walled room that we stayed in. The TV in the master bedroom only had two channels on it (sports and movies.) The proprietor was helpful.
