Excellent place to stay
A lot of hotels take pictures of the room to make it look bigger & better than it is. Not this one, the room was fantastic. Lots of room and a few places to sit, with the en suite nicely separated from the main room. But it was the balcony and stunning view of the lake & mountains that really made my stay here. Nice quiet room, everything clean, comfortable bed & pillows and the hotel food was really nice. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Would go again
Hotel had a beautiful view and was easy to get to with the bus system. The service was great and friendly along with great food at the restaurant

I wouldn’t of even known about this area without Expedia and I’m so thankful because it was an amazing stay. The area is breathtaking. The hotel was fantastic, perfect location by the bus stop. The bus ride up is stunning! The front desk answered all my questions, suggested hikes, they were fabulous. Th e dining was great I had the best server all three days. Food excellent. Best cappuccino I’ve had in Europe! I know that’s a bold statement! I really enjoyed this stay more than any of my stays in Switzerland! My only small complaint, the pillows weren't good for me and the hotel has the heat on no matter what! I’m just not used to that! I would like to control the heat being on in my room or not. Other than that I enjoyed it very much!

Sorry...but cannot recommend this hotel.
The Hotels.com pictures are a bit misleading. The hotel rooms really do not have the views you would expect and the property is really like a time share with some long-term or permanent residents. It is weird and the layout very confusing. The first room we received looked directly into a neighboring property between the hotel and the lake blocking any/all views. The 2nd room wasn't much better. The drive up to the hotel takes 15-20 mins on a very steep, winding, and narrow road. Easy to have an accident.

Dirty room with spider and NO AIR CONDITIONING
Hotel had wrong advertisement, gave me a room that was not what I booked for saying they are fully booked. Room is extremely dirty and had a spider size of the palm of adult hand. Bed had hair and black dust. Room does not have air conditioning. Avoid at all cost

this hotel is such a rip off with very poor hospitality. booked an apartment for 02 nights stay .. there was a small kitchenette in room ( about 1 sqm ).. to use that they asked to pay 40 CHF.. never heard of such a thing in a hotel & resort.. such a poor service, bad quality beds and pillows, house keeping was such a rip off.. daily cleaning to them means just making the bed with existing linens, replenishing coffee capsules. and not wipin off the sugar spilled on table, and not cleaning the used glasses.. the only good thing is the view of lake.. but the blacony has no flooring , no painting.. poorly maintained.. a big no to this hotel.. we were on a long 23 days trip and the 2 nights here was the worst of hospitality.. certainly not worth $450 a night

A nice stay!
It was located 20 minutes outside of Interlaken which we enjoyed due to the quiet road it was located on. We watched a lot cal farmer walk his cows right down the road in front of the hotel as we were eating! It was lovely!! They accommodated are dinning needs and staff was very helpful. Our double level was slightly outdated, but comfortable.

The hotel staff was not friendly. I did not realize there was breakfast included till check out when the staff told us. No one at check in told us and we ended up having to rent dishes for 40 francs to cook breakfast. The hotel is over 7 miles from Interlaken. No convienent grocery stores near by. Staff was rude to ask for ice. Not a welcoming place. We had to ask to have our room cleaned when everyone else had their's done without asking. We did enjoy the sauna in the hotel. I would not stay here again.

Highly disappointed
I had paid a premium room and most likel an expensive room so far. The room provided was the last one on the resort. Without any view and light in the remote corner of the hotel. Though room inside was good. But, no one goes To Interlaken to have a remote access room without any view and pay such a hefty amount

I have pre booked this hotel in May excited to stay with you completely disappointed with this Let me tell you why 1. 48 hours not even a single time does the house keeping nor the reception picked up the call , we have to walk from bottom 3 to 6 every time we need something even just for the towels. Even then they told me take the towels and go when I asked them why aren’t you picking up the call they said we are busy ? Is this for what I’ve paid 380$ per night ? Is this how they should talk ? Not even once did they picked up the call 2. Look at the attached images - the entrance to the right there is a water can when I was about to drink the water there is a fly in it when I tried to complaint the answer was horrendous os this why I’m paying 380$ per night Disappointed and Shocked to see a hotel brand like Dorint would do this We have just wasted 800$ on this

Avoid this DUMP!
Easily the worst part of this trip. Checked out early. Atrociously uncomfortable beds with coarse institutional linens. Worn out lumpy pillows. Rags for towels. Miserably hot room with depressing decor. No service from the staff and the worst breakfast ever, complete with stale rolls and inattentive service. No help with luggage. Hauled bags up and down stairs to get to the room. Basically an expensive youth hostel.

The most attractive thing about this hotel is the view...nothing beats looking out to Thunersee from your balcony and sometimes spotting Jungfrau. The room cleaning service was excellent. However, there are things I wished I knew before I booked the hotel: 1. Although on first look the Family room we booked came with kitchenette and it was said to be well-equipped, I didn't notice the small prints and was surprised on arrival to find that you will need to pay an additional 40 CHF to UNLOCK the cabinets containing all the cutlery and cooking utensils. There is only the hotel restaurant, there are otherwise no other dining options in walkable distance. You need to drive to Interlaken city centre for other options 2. The hotel is not that easily accessible. Even with a car, it is a 17 mins drive on winding hill roads. After a few drives it became more familiar and easier, but I can only imagine how a pain-in-the-ass it is if you do not drive and rely on the not-so-frequent public buses. On Google Map it does not seem that far from Interlaken city centre, but there is only one road in-and-out of Beatenburg as it is on the hill.

Family Switzerland trip, Summer 2023
The hotel was clean, good service, roomy with an amazing view of the lake and the Swiss mountains. The only downside was that it was 25 minute drive into the center of the city where all of the activities are. But there is buses that can take you there and back. Plus, if you have your own car, you can drive into the city center!

The property has beautiful views but it is secluded and not much around it. The rooms are spacious and clean. I don’t mind that it was secluded but if you want to be around more restaurants and shops then it’s not the place for you.

11 out of 10, the room we stayed in was perfect, we were on the top floor, and the view was beautiful, even when it's sunrises and sunsets, the room was clean all the time and no problem at all. The staffs are very friendly and lovely all the time. The transportation was easy, but have to wait every 30-45 minutes, but no problem at all. I really recommended this hotel, and we will be back in the future for sure.

This is a beautiful property in the middle of the mountains. It’s about 15 minutes drive from the interlaken town with amazing views of the Lake Thun and mountains (Jungfrau and Eiger) that everyone visits to see Interlaken. There is also a bus service to Interlaken but we didn’t use it. The staff is nice and the buffet breakfast is amazing with free cook to order omelettes and pancakes etc. The parking is plentiful. Great place

From a convenience perspective, this hotel ranks low as it is 12 kms uphill drive from the main Interlaken town but the views make up for it. Stunning views of Lake Thun against the mountain range takes your breath away!!

We really liked our stay at the hotel. Clean, excellent breakfast. Expensive but very tasty dinner. The location is a bit far and lengthens travel times, but the breathtaking scenery makes up for it Two things to improve: 1. Better quality pillows. 2. It is not clear why you have to pay extra for kitchen equipment. I recommend the hotel to families. Very functional.
