"This is a small hotel, one hour south of Marrakesh. It was a nice drive through a couple of villages and slowly climbing but you're in no way at a significant altitude. I asked for a car to take us from our hotel in Marrakesh. That was fine but in hindsight I should have arranged it myself and probably saved myself half the 70 euros I did pay. You could certainly arrange pickup from the lodge by someone from Marrakesh but we did use their (different) man, who drove us back and was friendly. I had been emailing Mohamed and he was helpful but he didn't offer lots of information unless asked. When you are there, there is nowhere else to eat, so you need to like tajines for dinner. There is a sweet little pool although unheated and was very cold in early April but still welcome after a 5-hour guided walk (arranged by the lodge, lunch halfway round) on a warm day around the valley. The guide was called Ibrahim and he was a brilliant guy with excellent English. Back at the lodge, in the bedroom there were no blackout blinds so take an eyemask or be prepared to wake up early! There was no TV but that was no problem and the internet did work but was a bit patchy. Breakfast was OK - pancakes, bread, boiled eggs, OJ, which we ate in the large garden on our two sunny mornings. All in all, it was a nice break from Marrakesh but don't go if you don't like walks and get bored quickly."

Hotel run by a lovely family who went out of their way to make us welcome and booked us a guide to go trekking and helped with taxi transfers. Great choice to stay when in Imlil "

"L'endroit est fantastique. Les hôtes sont chaleureux et tellement attentionnés. La vue est spectaculaire. Nous avions deux galeries pour profiter de l'extérieur. Le lit est propre, très grand et confortable. Nous avons bien mangé. L'ambiance du souper, avec le feu de bois et les chandelles, est très féérique. Les déjeuners sont complets. Le seul petit soucis était que la douche avait du mal à s'égoutter. Nous avons été si charmés que souhaitons y retourner. bientôt. "

"The stay at Lachens was sort of like a dream. The view from the balcony overlooking the mountains is so pretty. We are city folks so for us it was a couple of days to be able to dis connect and be in tune with the nature. Imlil is a serious trekking town but we are not hard core trekkers. So lachen arranged a guide with a mule to take us around the villages and surroundings which became the high light of our trip! We would have never done that much walking on our own but the guide even though didn’t know English was the most kindest knowledgeable guide who knew the terrain like the back of his hand. We felt safe and secure the whole time. Lachen can also arrange many tours if you want. He also arranged the taxi to and fro from Marrakesh at eve reasonable cost which was nice. The prepared dinner and breakfast also was delicious. The trek towards his house is very hilly and steep but we both were fine but just keep in mind for folks with mobility issues. But if one is coming to spend at Imlil, staying at valley serves no purpose. Staying at places high up is how you can enjoy the beauty and Laches place is perfect for that. This is no 5 star comfort place but him and his family took care of us very well. We felt so special and very taken care of which many 5 star places in the same trip we stayed at, we never felt! "
