Breathtaking Views, Quality Stay
Amazing location, views, and accomodations. The bed was super comfy and the AC was efficient. This must be the most convenient property on the island for visitors - it's only a few steps away from the ferry dock. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Great room with a small but nice and well kept garden area, The rooms were clean, decorated well with attention to detail. Great island and the hotel is very well located. Very friendly and hospitable owners. I would most definitely return.

Not only is this hotel in the perfect location less than a block off the harbor it has upscale decor nicer beds and wonderful sitting areas outside. And a jacuzzi sauna and workout equipment

Hotel owner met us at the port when our boat arrived. The rooms are spacious and clean and well located. There are deck chairs and a large dinner table situated on a stone ledge with amazing views of the port along with a hot tub and sauna.

Island of Hydra
Upon arrival to this lovely island we were exhausted from our trip and ready to relax. Peter, who is the owner and host went above and beyond to accommodate our getting to the apartment flawlessly - we didn't have to lift a finger, just get settled and begin our much anticipated enjoyment of Hydra!

Great place to stay in Hydra, Greece

Very nice place to stay in Hydra
Porta del Mare is close to the port, restaurants museums and shops. It is up a long unlit steep flight of stairs. There are four units in all and several levels of common outside gardens one of which had a broken jacuzzi.

Wonderful stay
We spent 2 weeks traveling in Greece. This is a great time to travel as the beaches are as beautiful as ever and the Greek people as hospitable as ever. Traveling in Greece is easy and right now you can get more bang for your buck. This guest house in Hydra has everting you want. The location is very convenient, very close from the harbor and restaurants. The guest house is tastefully decorated with amazing views, a hot tub and a sauna. You can tell that someone has put a lot of thought making sure that you have a successful stay. Peter (manager) is very kind and Claudia (cleaning staff) is very helpful. Peter has a store close to the guest house where you can always find him. I recommend enjoying breakfast at Skipper Café and watching the small but bustling harbor of Hydra or taking a boat to the many beaches in Hydra. I highly recommend this guest house and will definitely return.

Perfect spot to land on Hydra.
Everything was wonderful! Great guest suite with tiny kitchenette. So close to the main part of town yet very peaceful. Only issue was the shower leaked out all over the bathroom floor. And the bath towels and rugs definitely need to be replaced. Overall a great vacation.

Steps to the Harbor
The hotel is unique and charming. We were there in April and it was a bit early for the terrace. The hotel porch is 40-50 feet from the harbor front and it's many cafés and outdoor seating. Beautiful location. The rooms are unique with a bedroom loft. Furniture is new and the beds are comfortable. Hydra is a charming location.

I visited the island by myself for some peace and quiet and it was most enjoyable.It was a beautiful place and the hotel was excellent,very clean and a nice mix of old style greek stone with a modern touch.Very spacious accommodation with a small sauna too.I would recommend this hotel.

As soon as you arrive at Peter's hotel you know you chose well! He has done a wonderful job of creating a perfect getaway on Hydra. The decor is done with care and attention to reflect the charm of Hydra. The location is central, just steps to the harbour, but quiet and relaxing. The upper deck is the perfect spot for a glass of wine overlooking the rooftops and harbour. The suite and grounds are well maintained and spotless. We could not have found a more charming and lovely spot to call home on this little island and would love to return some time.

This are great apartments in a superb location. Above the rooms are several terraces which are delightfuully laid out. How about lying in a jacuzzi looking out over the rooftops of Hydra and watching the sun set! Fantastic. Pedro/Peter the owner/manager is cheery and helpful.

A great place for a quiet getaway
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Athens or wherever this is the place. There are no cars or even bicycles, just walking, donkeys or water taxis. Close to the Port, but no noise- we were in a courtyard view room. Beautiful property. Just four rooms beautifully appointed, nice kitchen, good coffee. Great views from the hottub and the upper terrace especially. 20% breakfast discount and all the coffee you can drink at a couple of excellent restaurants with outdoor seating for the best people and boat watching just steps away from the hotel. Takes cash only, ATM/bank steps away.

Fantastic hideaway 30 seconds from Hydra harbor
The PortaDelMare is a superb small inn just a few feet up an alley off the main harbor in Hydra. The rooms are ample in size, nicely decorated with plenty of storage and good lighting. Ours had a kitchenette with basic utensils and table service as well as a coffee maker with a small supply of ground coffee and some tea. There is a lovely outdoor terrace with tables, umbrellas, a couple of exercise machines and a jacuzzi. This was great for bringing in some food we got at a bakery and enjoying it with a bottle of wine. The place is very quiet, even though it is just a short walk to all the action at the picturesque harbor. It looked like this was a fairly recent remodel of an old villa. The bath was clean and well designed, and the in-room wifi worked just fine for basic Internet, though bandwidth was too low to transmit picture files. The only possible drawback would be for travelers who have mobility issues. You have to climb up a lot of steps to get to the floor with the guest rooms. We thought it was a great value, although we came late in the season, so the rates were adjusted accordingly. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again if I go to Hydra.

Hotellets läge och status överträffade alla förväntningar. Mycket fräscha rum och hotellets lilla spa. med jacuzzi, var perfekt efter en dag på stranden. Ägaren Petros är mycket beredvillig och vänlig och alltid lätt att komma i kontakt med, oftast i butiken nere vid hamnen. Rekommenderas för alla utom för dem som har svårt att röra sig i trappor. Hit återvänder vi gärna.

PortaDelMare er en lille perle gemt på en sidegade til havnepromenaden. Et lille guest house med blot 4 værelser. En fantastisk fælles terrasse i fire niveauer med udsigt over den skønne by. På terrassen finder du spiseborde, spa, liggestole og loungeområde. Hydra tog os med storm og vælger du dette guest house går du i hvertfald ikke galt i byen.

En perle sentralt i Hydra by.
Det var et trivelig hotell veldig sentralt i Hydra by, gangavstand til det meste og kun 30 meter fra bryggen, noe lavt under taket, men ellers var alt veldig bra.
