The staff was fantastic. My partner is vegan and they had great options, and went above and beyond for him. Room was cozy and spacious. Very nice place to visit.

Parking far from entrance and sloped walkway to reception. Given room on 2nd floor with no offer to help bring baggage inside or up to room; also no elevator offered. No a la carte breakfast. Fan in bathroom not working. Economical and fair price for offering.

Dear Andrea! We are sorry you could not have the best experience with us. Parking is not right in front of every single building but is pretty close, and we always have someone available to help with luggage; guests just have to request. Our buildings are muskoka style; we tried to keep a cozy environment, which is why there are just two or a maximum of three floors in every building, as described on our website, as well as the buffet breakfast. I hope next time you can have a better experience with us.

The property is beautiful and has an amazing view! The restaurant was perfect, food and service were all good! As for the bedroom, I love the view. However, the heating system is old and noisy, it wakes me up many times at night.

The place has a cozy feel and it’s a quiet area. Perfect for a weekend getaway to rest and find peace. The smallest/most affordable room can use some upgrades on the bathroom and the windows. The heating and A/C unit are confusing to use. The room could have a microwave.

I really like my stay over there, the only thing which i have complaint for was that I have booked for luxury room with lake view but I didn’t get what I book for. It was a normal room with no lake view.

So cute and cozy!
We booked this last minute as a place to stay and upon arrival realized it’s so much more! There was an outdoor fire pit with lounge chairs by the main entrance, dvds and books to borrow, snow shoes and more! Highly recommend as a getaway for a few days!

When I wanted to enjoy a quiet breakfast with my family, the waitress kept interrupting our conversation with apologies and insisted on serving us despite our polite refusals to continue our talk. She persistently offered service and accidentally spilled water on my clothes and the table while apologizing. When I said it was okay and quickly finished our breakfast, wanting to have a cup of coffee, she reappeared and asked if we could settle the bill now (as if hurrying us away). Funnily enough, the entire meal process was just 25 minutes, and there were only two tables with customers in the entire restaurant.

We were only there for a night. Our keys did not work for the right room (fixed when asked), there were no towels in the room (we evntually got towels from the fromt desk), pieced of the games in teh main hotel were missing. Food was expensive and extra charge (we opted to go to a small dinner outside of hotel rather than pay over $100 for a continental breakfast). Overall it would have been nice to actually use the sport facilities (bikes, canoes, golf course) that were included in our charges at this visit, but we are considering going back so maybe on our next trip north. Steep hills walking with our luggage when dealing with a back injury was not ideal, not the most convient to get into the building but fine once there

In regards to the buffet, it is more than just a continental breakfast; it is a complete buffet that costs 24 per person. You can receive a better deal, though, if you pay for the buffet in advance when making your reservation. Front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. Check-in was smooth and easy. The lounge food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Our room was amazing - wood burning stove, balcony with amazing view of the lake, large jacuzzi tub etc. They supplied as much fire wood as we wanted ( no extra charge). This lake front property was nice to walk around, including nature trails. They provide Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards on the sandy beach, and bikes, all for free ( first come, first serve). A great place for our Thanksgiving weekend! We will definitely go back another time.

Stayed for 2 nights with family, location is great, only issue is rooms are little outdated and there is no elevator, we got room at 3rd floor, so you have to drag your stuff to 3rd level. Staff is very nice, did not try breakfast but they have buffet breakfast from 8-11 and charges 25$ plus taxes. I will definitely stay again, area around property was very nice, 8 minutes drive to port carling and 7 minutes to Bala.

The Sherwood Inn provides us with a moment to ourselves and a time to relax and be pampered. The property is easy to take a little walk around and enjoy the fall colours. It is close to Bala and Port Carling and Torrance, where I have spent most of my summers.

Older but beautiful resort. Cozy and tranquil. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Amazing food, but the one drawback is the price of the food. Especially breakfast, recommend bringing your own breakfast food or be ready to pay big $$$ every morning a continental breakfast that is normally free at other hotels.

An excellent get-away in cottage country. The hotel is very quaint and is a great place to relax. Rooms are very clean as is the property, however, the resort is a little older so don't expect a property that is in new condition. Some minor items wrong with our room, but nothing major. Lounge had very good food - did not eat in their dining room. Staff are very friendly. The hotel charges a resort fee which is important to understand before you book.
