Perfect winter getaway
This place was so lovely and quaint. We loved the use of the big hill for sledding and snowshoeing (though the trek to the cottage up and down the hill in winter would be trepidatious for anyone with mobility issues) and there was enough room for our family of four to be comfortably together. The loft is adorable. You will need to keep the fire stoked continuously to keep warm upstairs but it is a very easy stove to use and the wood was all provided. The highway is visible from the water but didn’t bother us at all in our cozy winter hibernating. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Christmas getaway
We had a lovely stay in this cozy cottage for Christmas. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Lots of games and books available. Very peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place for small families and couples!

Peaceful cottage on rivers edge
We had a very relaxing time at this cottage. Tricky walking down the hill in snow, from the parking lot to the cottage. Be sure to wear proper footwear in the winter! Cottage was well stocked a d super clean!

5/5 Excellent

Wonderful Cottage Getaway!
My husband and I had a wonderful mini-moon at this property. It was beautiful during the fall and very cozy with the wood burning stove. The hot tub was very clean and easy to use. The owners (along with our travel agent) even put together a gift basket for us when they found out we just got married! We hope to visit again sometime in the future!

5/5 Excellent

Great getaway
We had a great trip in August, the property was exactly as mentioned, extremely clean, and just what we were looking for. The hot tub was a huge bonus as we had a couple of cold days/nights, there is also a small woodstove and outdoor fire pit fully stocked with wood which we took advantage of. As per other reviews, you do need to park at the top of a hill and walk all of your belongings down to the cabin. As we were staying a week, it took us a few trips to do this as we had a cooler full of food and drinks. If you have mobility issues, this could be a challenge. There is noise from the highway but after a while you don't notice it, and we could not hear the traffic while in the cabin or while we were sleeping. The water was perfect for swimming, we went for a canoe ride and fished off the dock every day. If you are looking to get away with your family, this is a great place, great location (close to Huntsville) and fully stocked with everything you might need.
