Nice Hotel
Great hotel, stayed here many times due to work. Only complaint is the soup served in the restaurant was the same kind for four days running, I personally would have liked other options, but apart from that very happy with my stay and the gym was also great.

Overall a comfortable stay
My two night stay was easy and comfortable. The staff were lovely and helpful. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub, the pool showers not so much. There was a function on in the hotel during my stay and although the reception staff thoughtfully put me far away from it, that night I could still hear the base beat at 11pm when I was trying to sleep. The hotel has been partially refurbished and work was midway in the gardens.

Sadly my room was rather grim. Dark & gloomy, very basic. Naff 1980’s curtains, horrible bathroom, cracked washbasin & ghastly shower door, rusty, grubby … ugh

During a three-night stay in Hull, our rest was disrupted by loud music from hotel functions, persisting past midnight. The staff eventually relocated us after complaints, but the experience was far from ideal. Additionally, both rooms, including an 'upgraded' one, needed modernization, especially the bathrooms with their poor fixtures and grime. The hotel's amenities like the pool and jacuzzi were also dated and unclean. With Accor's 2023 EBITDA nearing €1 billion, investment in this property seems overdue. We won't return without significant improvements.

Apologies your stay was not as great as it should have been, we do try our best with room allocations but cannot always get this perfect, especially over the Festive & New Year period where we do hold a lot of celebrations here at the hotel. I do hope you will visit us again in the future, and we are able to showcase what a great Hotel we really are.

Poor value for the money
Although overpriced we stay at this hotel for its convenience. The rooms are ok but the pillows were very hard and the shower is in a narrow bath with a mixer that was either Luke warm or scalding hot. Our previous night was at a Travelodge in Mansfield. It was half the cost of the Mercure and the pillows and shower were excellent.

Wifi was terrible in the room as a solo traveller this was not very good unable to watch Netflix or anything similar ive stayed here before and this was a issue then rooms and gym could all do with a little revamp

Tired and overpriced
The Hotel is very tired and looks like nothing improved for 30 years. The pics are very flattering nothing like reality £127 more like a £45 hotel.

Dated and smelly
Very dated property, smelly and poor quality of furniture and fittings. Needs a major refurbishment. Staff friendly and good breakfast.

Thanks for making us aware of a smell, this is not something often brought to us but we will check this out. Don’t stay here
Rooms look nothing like the pictures on hotels.com. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything. The room was dated and we waited around 2 hours for food in the restaurant

An easy to find Hotel, well set out & convenient for our trip to Cottingham & the area. Friendly, pleasant, & helpful staff plus an easy feel about the place. Good access from A63 and A164 with ample parking. Lovely large clean double room and very friendly staff. We returned after an event late and the bar was closed, but as we were residents, the night reception staff kindly still served us a ‘night cap’. Overall very good hotel experience and we shall stay again. Thank you.

Just ok, Average, needs upgrade
Room was clean, but the bathroom is dated, the ceiling looks like an office grid ceiling, bed was great, no air con (on a red hot night which was unbearable), noise from next doors tv at 1am, had to call reception. Breakfast in morn wasn’t being kept topped up towards the end and, we came down around 20minutes before the cut off (not unreasonable) and we had to ask for everything, staff also didn’t look to pleased.. looked at us like we were aliens. Reception bloke was great

Lovely hotel, will be returning
We had a lovely stay. The room was nice and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. A couple of areas in the room were a little disheveled (i.e., slight crack in the wall, broken photo frame, bathroom could use a re-grout) but this did not take away from our stay. The floor we were on was easily accessible and was nice and quiet. The hotel's pool and spa facilities were great and a lovely addition for our second day there. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

Adequate but could do with updating on places
Hotel and rooms feel a little ‘dated’ though perfectly pleasant. The lift is slow so take the stairs, my room has no power sockets near the bed, light switches that were different styles, and a TV remote that rattled and would only work at certain angles. Water pressure in the shower was poor. But the room had a lovely view of the gardens and a good night’s sleep.

Wish I hadn’t bothered.
Checked in fine only to find out they allocated me the wrong room so only after I realised (not the hotel), I had to repack my stuff and move to another room. Ordered food in the restaurant which took nearly an hour to come and when it did, it was inedible. Give a wide berth would be my humble advice
