Perfect for a family getaway, Cedar Key Cabin includes one queen-size bed, two twins TV, VCR, DirectTV, internet access, central heating and air-conditioning, open beams, and hardwood floors. The home sleeps 4 persons comfortably. Outdoors there's a deck with a charcoal grill and patio furniture. NEW this year is a separate private floating dock which is great for swimming and boating. There is additional room on a shared dock. Cedar Key Cabin is near the mountains and the Smith Mountain Lake dam and also located in a "NO WAKE" cove which is ideal for swimming. Welcome: Cedar Key Cabins are two immaculate vacation rentals located on the shores of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. In addition to comfortable accommodations, you'll also enjoy stunning wide-water and mountain views! Smith Mountain Lake is a boater's and fisherman's paradise. There are 500 miles of shoreline on this 40 mile long, 20,000 acre lake. If you have your own boat, you can launch it at nearby Mitchell's Point Marina and dock it at the Cabin's dock. Boat rentals and wave runners are available at several lake locations. From our location it is about 1000 feet to the main channel of the lake. For the fisherman, we are located on Witcher Creek where the stripers spawn. The lake is stocked with bass, muskies, northern pike, and other small game fish. Dog friendly! Dogs are allowed on the property and have a wonderful time at the lake. However, please do not leave them alone. Even though your dog may be comfortable alone at home, dogs are often frightened when left in a strange place and can cause substantial damage. Cats are not allowed. The beautiful knotty pine floors, walls, and ceilings plus exposed beans were complimented by furnishings in beige and soft white. The view from the lake facing main room and bedroom, and the porch was relaxing and peaceful. In spite of the fact that they accept dogs, nothing was damaged or worn. The cabin was adorable, the balcony has some gorgeous views of the teal lake, and the cove was isolated perfection. Absolutely loved coffee on the balcony watching the birds and the boats roll through and then evening balcony dinners with a perfect sunset angle. I didnt realize this was on a nature preserve, which was a whole treat watching all the baby deer running around. Got a great shot of the fireworks over the lake. The stay here was wonderful. The scenery really beautiful. We did have some people near us though seem to think the lake was the restroom to put it a polite way; we had to go back up to the cabin after that ruined the rest of the afternoon. We wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't WELL worth it. This time, we even brought our 3-month-old daughter for her first trip, and she had a blast as well. The property is clean, quiet, peaceful, comfortable, and contains everything you could need. The deck is perfectly spacious and situated for meals while looking at the beautiful lake, and the dock at the water is unbeatable as always. As usual, we can't wait to come back. ##### Everett A.
