This beautiful lakefront home is nestled in the trees and offers spectacular views of the lake from its two fabulous large covered porches. With four bedrooms and two bathrooms, this home is perfect for families or groups of friends looking to escape to nature and enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors. The main level of the house features a queen-size bed in the first bedroom, while the second floor boasts a queen-size bed in the second bedroom, a king-size bed in the third bedroom, and two sets of bunk beds in the fourth bedroom. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and offer plenty of closet space for your belongings. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing delicious meals, with modern appliances and ample counter space. Enjoy your meals at the indoor dining table that seats 6-8 or the large dining table and picnic table on the upper porch that can accommodate even more guests. The outdoor gas grill is also available for those who prefer to cook outdoors. The family room is cozy and inviting, featuring two sofas, two chairs, a mounted TV, and a fireplace for those chilly nights. The full basement offers even more space for entertainment, with a ping pong table, game table, comfy sofas, and another mounted TV. Out the basement door is a second huge porch boasting another great view! Complete with a seating area and picnic table, it is a great extension of space. The outdoor space is equally impressive, with a two-story dock and swim deck that provides easy access to the lake. The dock has one boat slip available and is equipped with dock chairs, swim noodles, a lily pad, and an inflatable kayak for your use. Bring your fishing pole and enjoy the clear and deep waters of Lewis Smith Lake. An outdoor fire pit is also available for those who want to enjoy the chilly nights under the stars. Highspeed internet and YouTubeTV are provided. All major cell carriers have reliable service. This property is located in the Houston area, just a short drive from nearby towns and attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring the local area. Ave Maria Grotto, in Cullman, Alabama, is a landscaped, 4-acre park in an old quarry on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey, providing a garden setting for 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous religious structures of the world. It was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on February 24, 1976, and to the National Register of Historic Places on January 19, 1984. The stone and concrete models are the work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard's Abbey, who devoted some 50 years to the project, the last three decades (1932 to 1961) almost without interruption. They incorporate discarded building supplies, bricks, marbles, tiles, pipes, sea shells, marbles, plastic animals, costume jewellery, toilet bowl floats and cold cream jars. Born in 1878 in the Kingdom of Bavaria, Brother Joseph was maimed in an accident that left him slightly hunched due to cervical kyphosis. He immigrated to the United States as a teenager, settling in northern Alabama. Soon afterward he began studying at the newly founded Benedictine monastery of St. Bernard, where he took his vows in 1897. Br. Joseph was not allowed to be ordained as a priest, due to the rule of the period that stated any man with a distracting disability could not be ordained a priest. He ran the monastery’s power plant and was, even by a monk's standards, a withdrawn, quiet man. It was very clean and had several “adds” like extra sunscreen, aloe (in case you forgot to reapply the sunscreen) 🙂, earplugs (in case you have snoring houseguests), and several spices/staples in the kitchen. If you are familiar with the lake, you know Brushy Creek is great. It is normally less crowded than the areas closer to Duncan Bridge, which is exactly what we wanted. We had several new wakeboarders with us so we needed the less crowded part of the lake to let them learn. This house is very close to the Dave Wilson Circle public boat launch, too. The only small critique I have is the check in email did not contain the correct code for the lockbox; however Benjamin quickly assisted and provided the correct code so no harm.
