Houston Bungalow
House was super clean and host had fabulous communication. Very cute inside. Mattresses were SOOO clean and comfortable, a tad on the firm side but not terrible. Loved the backyard. Kitchen had very minimal cookware. I had to go to store to purchase a larger skillet because the ones that were there were to small. To me the description talking about the location being in Heights neighborhood made me feel like it would be a very nice neighborhood and it was not the best. We felt uncomfortable with the surroundings. There are nice townhouses across the street but the houses around were very run down with a lot of junk and debris around. Gated doors and windows etc. Though it was very quiet (other than the occasional train). The house and host were amazing, the neighborhood was less than anticipated.

Heights House
This is a well-kept, nicely furnished house in a super convenient location. We were visiting places downtown and in the Heights and we were a very few minutes from our destinations. It had everything we needed to stay for three days, even a fully-fenced, pretty back yard with tree frogs singing in the evenings. We will certainly visit again.

This low frills bungalow was the perfect weekend stay in the heights area for a local celebration. Good AC, abundant towels, and functional layout made this a 5 star property for our group of 3 friends.

The bungalow was as described except there was no spa/whirlpool (and we did not expect one). All in all a good experience! Good A/C. Nice to have the yard with our pups. Looked to be newly readied for VRBO and having sustained some flooding? Needs more window coverings to block out light from street in front bedroom and windows on side front. Towel bars, nightstand and lamps with bulbs would be great. Something going on under kitchen sink on disposal side? Coffee maker was not cleaned after last use. One neighbor's house looked questionable but both sides neighbor people were very friendly. Thank you!

Clean, nice little house
The property was so tidy and functional. It is an old house, and my mind wandered to how much history that house must have seen—especially with only two bedrooms and one bath. As someone who raised 5 kids, I pictured the pride of the very first owners when they bought that house and filled it with children and how spoiled we are with such extravagant space today. Anyway, we loved it! The one recommendation I have is to put several HOOKS in each bedroom and in the bathroom for towels. We didn’t know where to put our wet towels since there aren’t any towel bars in the bathroom. One person draped them over the washer/dryer in the kitchen and another over the shower rod and another over a chair.

Bungalow
The bungalow was perfect for me and my family. Easy to check in and received clear instructions for entering the home. The two bedrooms provided ample space. The house was very clean and had plenty of towels and washcloths. We also traveled with our dog, who loved the fenced in backyard. The location is ideal and allows easy access to the Heights and major freeway.

Last Minute
We booked last minute for a trip to the CFP Championship. Place was in a perfect spot for us, the neighborhood is in the midst of redevelopment, with large modern places replacing the more historic properties as is happening in most major cities. Quiet area and about 20 minutes to everything we wanted to do - which is saying something with Houston traffic. The place is older, but has been updated. Perfect for two brothers in their 30s to work and have a home base, and get out to explore the city. Really happy with the place and would stay again.

The Best Respite!
Having just lost my mother, I needed a place to get away and reconnect with myself. Friends suggested a quick getaway and provided an airline ticket to Houston. I was not up to seeing anyone or wanting to be around numerous individuals. They found and suggested this quaint VRBO. It was perfect! The cleanliness and design of the unit were as described. The neighborhood was quiet and near grocery stores. It was just what I needed, I will seek this out on a return trip to Houston.

Great little bungalow getaway
Yard was perfect for my small dogs. House was exactly as advertised, clean and cozy. The kitchen could use a few more essentials like knives, cutting board, can opener that works, and cookware. Beds were comfy, neighborhood was quiet, hardly even noticed the train that others commented on.

Wonderful Stay
This is a very charming little house! Perfect for a solo traveler, a couple, or a small family. I loved sitting on the back porch in the morning, listening to the birds. This is a quiet neighborhood. It is transitional, meaning new homes are being built along side old generational homes. As a woman traveling alone, I felt absolutely safe. Neighbors were friendly. Very convenient location. The Heights is right across the freeway. Montrose, the museum district, downtown, EaDo, and the stadium are all just 15 minutes or less from here. The fence is secure, with no gaps or holes a dog could escape through. My dog loved the yard! The bed was so comfortable! That comforter was so soft. The couch, the rugs, all soft and comfortable. I actually wished I'd had more free time to sit on that couch and read or watch a movie. Communication with the host was perfect. I will definitely stay here again when I visit my home town.

Just what we needed
This adorable home was just enough space for me and my family. It was close to the freeway and lots of great local eateries. Neighborhood is transitioning, so there was quite a bit of construction going on a few houses down, but it was not a nuisance. Will definitely stay here again!

Good proximity for our needs
We were in town for spring break visiting friends, 2 adults, 2 kids. This is an up-and-coming area, mixture of old and new houses. The streets are very narrow which at times made it a tight squeeze for my truck when cars were parked alongside the street. Place is clean and equipped with what you would need. As another reviewer mentioned, blackout curtains are needed, streetlights are bright, so if you need total darkness to sleep, I would bring a sleeping mask. Also would have been nice if there were over the door hooks to hang towels, ect. We did hear the train at night; however, we sleep with a sound machine so it helped some. Overall we felt safe, didn't have any issues.

Cute place! Great for dogs!
Three beds were just right for our group. The couch is comfortable and sleepable also. The dogs loved the completely fenced backyard. It was escape proof even for our mini dachshund. There is a new construction occurring across the street and they caused a water leak on the first night we arrived. The city had to shut off water to the whole street for the repair that was done by the following afternoon. The owner was very responsive and helpful through the whole ordeal. It was fine for us who moved at a leisurely pace, but a fair warning for people on business. There is definitely a close train that sounds somewhere between midnight to 2am nightly. 9/10 Would book again!

Good value, excellent proximity to Houston attractions. One of the few places that allowed dogs and was much cheaper than the next alternative. There was a very loud train that blows through neighborhood at night, but I suppose that's any property in Independence Heights.

Cozy home in Houston
We were in town for a family wedding, 4 adults and two small dogs. Cute house, Great backyard with a secure fence and nice deck. Very clean, had all the amenities, plenty of towels etc. Convenient to all the various places we had to go. The neighborhood is undergoing a transition, lots of new building etc. but felt safe.

Cozy & Convenient
The property owner was accommodating and responsive. The neighborhood is going through a face lift but it was very convenient to a lot of places! I would say the only issues that we had was the lack of curtains in the bedroom to help block out the bright street lights at night and someone before clearly rented with a cat. There was cat hair in everything and a faint smell of urine.
