Close to everything and the lake! This cute little cabin is perfect for an overnight stay or extended vacation and cheaper than the hotels in town. It has a loft bedroom upstairs with a queen bed overlooking the living room. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bunk on the bottom and a single bunk on the top. There is a double bed in the pull out couch in the living room if you need extra sleeping spaces. The bathroom has just been redone with a spacious shower to wind down after those long days on the trails and Lake. There is a lighted deck out back with a 6 person table and two zero gravity chairs to relax and enjoy some drinks or BBQ on with the family along with a fire pit for night time entertainment during the summer and fall. There is lake access with a beach with bathrooms and a fishing pier at the Lakeview park at the end of the neighborhood/road. It's about a 5 min. walk or less than a 30 second drive. There are three marinas (Lyman's, Brians, and Heights marina) with pontoon and boat rentals within a two minute drive and a few more within 10 minutes and the DNR boat launch is a mile down the road. The home is also within a 30 second drive of Lakeland recreation with go karts, batting cages, putt putt, and other games. The home is also only a 15 minute drive from the famous and beautiful south Higgins Lake state park as well as only a 20 minute drive to a canoe, kayak, and tubing livery on the Ausable (Campbell's canoes). The home is also within minutes of many restaurants and golf courses. The kitchen is small, so there is only a spot for two people to eat although there is a six person table on the deck as well during the summer and fall as TV trays provided for the living room. Amenities include propane grill, coffee maker, stocked kitchen, six person outdoor table, fire pit, air conditioning upstairs and downstairs, washer and dryer, Netflix, Amazon prime TV, as well as network and streaming channels with my Uverse account in the living room, but hey; you're here to enjoy the outdoors, not watch TV. Linens and Bathroom towels are provided. There is a dartboard in the backyard. The decor is all woodsy themed with bears and deer and fish. The backyard is amazing. Cute little fireplace, a hammock, totally fenced in yard, string lights, tiki torch, grill, patio set- the whole 9\. Even darts and cornhole. Best part? The backyard is mostly under a huge tree- so even when it was sprinkling- we didn’t get wet. The kitchen is tiny, but it does the job. The mattress in the master is SO COMFORTABLE. The walk/drive to the beach and pier area is very short- the neighbors were quie. The stores, gas stations, bars, and restaurants were all very close in proximity. Every place up there is just quaint, cute, and exactly what we were looking for in a get away. The host was extremely responsive and helpful! This property was exactly as described! I was looking for a fair priced location for one; and this was it! My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway and this suited perfectly. Loved that the neighborhood is respectful of others and not noisy, at least during the off-season time we were here. Also very close (walking distance) to the community church. The cottage itself was just as pictured. Small and cozy, with all the essentials provided. Bedding, towels, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking. Each time I thought “oh no, I wonder if they’ll have …” and checked the cupboards, I found what I needed! Can opener, strainer, cutting board, even a pizza cutter. I can’t speak to what it’s like in summer or full-on winter, but for early December, this is the cabin if you want a quiet, relaxing vacation! ##### Hope B. It was convenient to everything in Houghton Lake. We got to spend quality time with family and had the perfect landing spot between our time at the lake and riding go-carts. These hosts thought of everything! All we needed was food. We played Uno and Cornhole and had a couple of campfires. Even got to see movies that we hadn't had a chance to enjoy yet. My grandparents had a cabin nearby for years and this trip reminded me of my summers with them. I hope our grandson will cherish the memories we made with him just as much. ##### Heather S.
