Set on the shores of Platte Lake, this home is for the guests that want to spend a lot of time near the water - and want a comfortable place to rest once they've swum their heart out! With a lakeside deck and a dock that includes a bench, swimmers and boaters alike will enjoy the safe havens. When the sun goes down, it's time to cook your catch on the home's private gas grill. Afterward, it's time to light up the permanent firepit near the beach and watch the stars come out. This home is also within 12 miles of Long Lake, Rush Lake, Crystal Lake, and Little Platte Lake. When guests need a break from lakeside activities, Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre provides fun viewing during the summer season six miles away. Point Betsie Lighthouse (just under eight miles away) is the perfect gateway to Lake Michigan. Please note that this property does not have A/C. The home was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and furniture. We enjoyed swimming in the lake off the dock and having a fire in the fire pit. Did not end up using the canoe but I wish we had taken it out at least once. Our days were filled with exploring the area - dunes, beaches, Platte River, and great nearby towns.A couple areas for improvement: in two of the bedrooms there is no place to put a suitcase, so a dresser to unpack into would be super helpful. We did use the hangers in the closet for a few things. I was rather surprised and disappointed there was no wine glassware - even some shatterproof ones would have been nice. ##### Lindsay B. Overall the place is located in a nice quiet area. Has a great beach and dock. The kids had a great time playing in the water. Boat launch is not too far.
