In some ways, this is the best resort in the Ka'anapali area.
We got the smallest available unit Expedia still had available. It put us on the 8th floor with an unobstructed view of the ocean and Moloka'i. The unit looking into the central courtyard and pools didn't have this. it was much quieter on our Lanai. Downside, we were also not obstructed from the trade winds. A bit too windy to truly relax on the lanai. As I looked around the resort I suspected that there was not a bad unit (maybe something on the 2nd floor on the backside).
The pools were pretty great. The newly renovated pool was so pretty with water spouts and bubbling water volcanos. Kids were loving it. A bit too crowded with kids for us. The beach pool was more traditional in size and shape, but looked out on the ocean and was right next to the bar! Also not very many kids.
Around the property were little places to have a romantic meal. Tables in the jungle. Firepits. A very quite (but small beach). There is also free DVD rentals and books to borrow.
Across the street (5 minute walk) was a food truck lot with 6 fulltime trucks and across from that is a strip mall with a very affordable grocery store, L&L, shave ice, and Dole Whip places.
Down the road (still a 5 minute walk) is a scooter rental company and ABC.
Right out front is the bus stop that will take you into Lahaina for $2! Everyone was taking it. So convenient.
