The flat is ideally situated in the very historic heart of Honfleur, offering postcard views over the most photographed harbor of Northern France; from the living room, you will be able to enjoy your meals while watching the boats passing by. The flat is sunny and bright throughout the day; the rising sun in the living room; in the early afternoon, the sun shines in the bedroom, ideal for a nap!; in the afternoon, the sun lights up the kitchen for the preparation of your evening dinner. The apartment is located on the second floor in a 17th century building with lots of character (timber in the stairs and slates on the front ( typical of Honfleur craftmanship). Also, It provides the latest mod cons and hifi equipment for a relaxing break -including international sat- HD TV/radio, dock station for smart phones and double glazing. To enjoy your night, the king size bed (140\*200cm) and its mattress have just been upgraded to a 4-star luxury quality. For a French person like myself (Nathalie, the owner), food is essential to the French way of life. The reason why my kitchen is almost as well-equipped as yours at home; nothing is missing, you will really be able to cook like a CHEF! Don't worry, there are also very good restaurants within 5 minutes' walking distance from the flat. Just ask me (Nathalie, the owner) on arrival. Last but not least, an underground secure parking in a garage (8 minutes'walk from the flat) is available on arrival with a supplement of 5 euros per day. From a touristic point of view, Honfleur is one of the most visited historical towns of France, dating back from the Middle Ages and there is plenty to enjoy from shops, art galleries, restaurants, artisan bakeries and 'charcuteries'. All of them are at the foot of the building (your car is useless). Be sure to visit the famous churches and museums, or perhaps explore the picturesque villages within the lovely countryside of the 'Pays d'Auge' with its stud farms and numerous thatched Norman houses surrounded by apple orchards. Just 10 miles away from Honfleur, you will reach Deauville with its casino, beach and race track.! Etretat and its famous cliff is one hour away without forgetting the landing beaches that are 1 hour 30 away. Le Mont Saint-Michel is about 3 and a half hours'drive. All the maps and necessary touristic information are to be found in the flat and I (the owner) will be delighted to help you with any more information if you wish so. Nous venons de passer 4 jours dans cet appartement dont la vue sur le port est superbe, très reposante. L'appartement, bien que central, est bien insonorisé et de ce fait très calme. Il est très bien équipé, aussi bien en cuisine qu'en literie. La propriétaire est attentive à la satisfaction de chacun. It was wonderful to get up each morning to a view of the Vieux Bassin, and just out the door were all the dining options along the waterfront. Bakeries, a fishmonger, a traiteur and a Carrefour were all an easy walk. We didn't actually cook in the kitchen because the nearby stores offered so much in the way of prepared meals, we often just heated up some ready-made food or had a charcuterie dinner! Our hostess Natalie is friendly and helpful, her gallery/shop is on the street level of the building so she is frequently available. Only one warning, which is that it's an old building, and although the apartment is refurbished, the stairs are narrow and circular, like climbing the stairs in a tower. We would be happy to stay here again should we return to Honfleur. ##### Geoff C. The apartment was great and Nathalie was very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is with the accuracy of the description of the flat, particularly the stair access. These are steep and narrow, all 43 of them, and this should be made clear to potential customers. Nathalie did make us aware that the stairs were a challenge, but this was after the holiday had been booked and paid. My wife and I managed the stairs ok, but they would be a serious challenge for anyone with mobility issues who had booked the apartment without being made aware of this issue. ##### Bill S. Overlooking the harbour and within walking distance to everything. The place is well equipped, spotlessly clean and Nathalie is a very kind and responsive owner. The ‘gifts’ of wine, cheese and all the other ‘goodies’ upon arrival were much appreciated. The stairs are a challenge but just just get organised and do it bit by bit. Once you have climbed the 42 narrow, winding stairs, the view of the old port is superb. We could have watched the passing scene all day. Adequately furnished; kitchen equipment adequate. Bed comfortable but carpet a bit tired. Very quiet and private. New windows. Owner had left lovely Normandy treats in the fridge. You can walk everywhere. Many shops and restaurants to explore in this fascinating old town. Parking was about 5 minutes walk and was indoor and secure. The windows are pretty sound proof when closed. The host went out of her way to ensure we were cool during the heat wave and was generous and in touch regularly. The apartment has all you could wish for and is stocked with every possible amenity. A terrific jumping off place to explore Lower Normandy (highly recommend Rouen and surrounding small scenic towns) or just hang out and enjoy Honfleur itself! ##### Erica M.
