We’ve stayed at the Maplewood twice. It is a lovely inn/hotel situated , ideally, On the edge of Saugatuk‘s downtown and within walking distance to all this cute town has to offer. The inn is beautiful and the pool is private and welcome in warmer weather. The rooms are well appointed in period details and furnishings. Our only issue is the late availability of coffee/tea and breakfast. There are no coffeemakers in the rooms (nor are there refrigerators, but there is a small fridge available to guests in the common area). Coffee is not available until 8:15 and breakfast starts at 9 and ends by 10. Personally, I would prefer a cup of coffee available by 7:00 with breakfast offered btwn 8:00-10:00. The closest coffee shop is about 3 blocks away (Uncommon Grounds-highly recommended). A nice walk but who wants to have to get dressed to go get coffee on vacation? Breakfast offerings were ok. You get one choice of a hot entree and if you don’t like it you can have fruit, store bought pastry, yogurt and granola. We enjoyed the accommodation, would stay again but would probably just go out for breakfast.
