We warmly welcome you to 1920 and the Hideout, first established back when Lakeshore Drive was just a two-track road seldom traveled by anyone other than the isolated cottagers randomly dotted along the gold coast shoreline of Lake Michigan. This infamous historic home has housed bootleggers and gangsters alike back from the prohibition era! Now you too, can eat, sleep, and live where they once did! And better still, you can enjoy the amazing amenities of the Holland area that they never had! The Hideout has been restored back to its original condition of 1920\. Much of the furniture and decor has been authenticated, appraised, and documented. Our passion is to have our guests step back in time to see and feel what it would have been like to set foot in the Hideout back during the prohibition era! Tucked along Holland’s scenic lakeshore, this furnished 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage captures the warmth and charm of simpler times — cozy, inviting, and thoughtfully updated for comfort. Easy access to several very nice beaches, a great walking trail just outside the door, and a quick drive to downtown Holland. It worked well for our long weekend getaway. The house was very clean and cozy. The kitchen equipment is minimal, but it was enough for us. If you read the information about the house the owners are restoring it to its state in the 1920's. The kitchen and sitting areas are open so its a great space. The front yard is beautiful and the butterfly bushes are great as we saw a lot of butterflies during our stay. The beach is very close and the house is quiet dispute it being close to the road. The 1 bathroom is very roomy and there were plenty of towels. I would recommend this property!!
