Casual cottage styling mixed with colorful spaces, this cottage makes for a comfortable stay in Saugatuck. This quaint cottage will accommodate 8 or 9 people comfortably. The main house has two bedrooms; one with a queen sized bed and the other with a full. The bungalow, just steps away in the backyard, serves as the third bedroom and has heat and air conditioning. The bungalow has a queen size bed and also bunk beds. The bungalow has a full bath that was added in 2011\. As an added convenience, there are no steps getting into the bungalow. Located in the heart of the village district, plan on walking to all the in-town locations. The river is just a few hundred feet away with shops, restaurants and parks located within a 3-10 minute walk. If you are familiar with Saugatuck, Butterfly cottage is a stone's throw from the public boat launch, Gleason's market and Ida Reds. We are happy to be one of the few places to welcome well mannered pets in our cottage. An added plus, the back yard is fully fenced. Please note that if you plan on bringing your pet, you need to include them in your booking. When you are inputting the number of guests, you will want to make sure you add "Yes" to the pet question as well as to include the pet information in the booking. There is an extra cleaning fee of $100 if you let me know in your booking. If there is any evidence of a pet being at the home without you including this in the booking, there will be a charge of $500. Off street parking for 1 larger vehicle or 2 smaller ones. It is decorated so cute and was very comfortable. The location is excellent. The drive to Oval Beach was short. There is a lot to see and do in Saugatuck. We went on the paddle boat, went to the beach most every day, and dined at many good restaurants. We were able to walk to town every night, which we enjoyed. I would say there are two major things that need improvement. The floors of the cottage weren’t very clean, (there was a big hairball behind the door in one of the bedrooms) and the floorboards need a good cleaning too.Landscaping: the yard was mowed, however, around the house and in the backyard, the shrubbery was overgrown and the planting areas were very weedy. In the backyard there is a nice table we sat at each evening. It is such a lovely area, but not kept up at all. ##### Colleen B. We had everything we needed in the house, which is cozy and quiet. Saugatuck is beautiful and laid back, and we were able to walk everywhere - breakfast, coffee, dinner, the waterfront. The location was very quiet and convenient and easy to get around the town. The small casita does have a few issues - needs to be fumigated for ants, and other little bugs, and the toilet runs non - stop - but other than that the place is very relaxing ##### Karen H. In need of general up keep and a new housekeeper/ property manager. Carpenter ants and stink bug problem. The Butterfly cottage in Saugatuck was the perfect place to stay. Within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Saugatuck. ##### Deborah W. We could easily walk in to town for shopping and meals. The house was clean and we had ample seating for hanging out. We had a wonderful stay. For safety sake, a railing on the stairs to the basement would be advisable along with a grab bar in the shower in the main house. The house was adequately equipped. It was very clean, except for the ceiling fans which didn't seem to have been cleaned in a long time which is bad for anyone with allergies.
