TENDER LOVING CARE
HOTEL STAFF GREAT WHO RECTIFIED THE PROBLEMS THEY COULD PROMPTLY AND REWARDED WITH FLOWERS FOR THEIR SERVICE. WHITE TOWELS WERE GREY IN COLOR, STAINED, THIN AND FRAYED WHILE SHEETS WERE TORN AND MATTRESS NEEDED REPLACING. SHOWER CURTAIN WAS FILTHY AND SHOWER HEAD NEEDED FIXING WITH NO BATH PLUG. KETTLE NEEDED REPLACING AND HAD TO BE BOILED ON THE FLOOR AS THERE WAS ONLY ONE ACCESSIBLE POWER OUTLET IN ROOM WITH NONE IN BATHROOM AND FREEZER NEEDED DEFROSTING. WALL PAPER TORN AND STAINED. THE ROOM ITSELF WAS LARGE AND IN WALKING DISTANCE HOWEVER THE AIRCON WAS NOISY AND BALCONY NEEDED CLEANING.

Great location, ok breakfast, good staff (best feature), great bed and pillows, but a pity we went two days without soap and one day without toilet paper. Also toilet and air condition leaked a LOT of water, although the former was fixed immediately. These issues make the difference between an excellent hotel and an average hotel. My partner did not like the hotel, I did not mind it, so lucky I did the review.

Average hotel with a good location
The room is clean, but was a little run down, in particular the bathroom, although it showed traces of some recent refurbishment. The service is good, and also the location, very convenient because close to the central market and many restaurants.

Just a normal hotel
Location of the hotel is good. Staffs are friendly. The room is big and with bathtub but there was no coffee and tea provided in the room but two drinking water are provided. Location is good but there are many hotel around the area that i felt more valve for money. Breakfast is very normal but most of the food was not ready for my early check out at 6:30am.

Still sick from room
I picked this place because of online promo. Neat little hotel in a good location to everything. My room was good size and had old colonial feel to it. The breakfast was good, enough to get you out the door to start the day. BUT, the room was suspect when I checked in. Not very clean, a lot of dust and the wallpaper dirty and looked to have mold under it. I woke up very early in the morning with the worst sore throat I have ever had. I'm someone who rarely gets sick and I had been in HCMC for days already before checking here with no problems. Still sick from it. Too bad because good location and neat room.

Deluxe room is not 28 m². Gave me partial refund
I checked into their deluxe room, which was advertised as 28 m². As soon as I entered the room, the size did not feel right. I went down to reception to see if they gave me the wrong room. They insisted it was the room that I booked. I said the room size is not right. The reception showed me a brochure that said my room was 28 square meters. I said let's go measure the room together. After we measured it, the actual size, was only about 18 square meters or less, I don't remember the exact size, I think and the manager gave me a three dollar refund. I just checked their room sizes and the deluxe room is still listed as 28 square meters. If you book this room, just keep in mind that the size is not correct.

Little Saigon
The check-in at the hotel was quick and easy. The staff at this hotel are welcoming. We were given our internet-booked "superior" room which didn't have a window. Had I known there was no window I would never have booked it. When I went downstairs to see if I could get a windowed room the girl upgraded us. What the 'superior" room is superior to I don't know as it seems to be their bottom room. This hotel is okay. It is not expensive, but it is a little rundown.

Good, clean, well serviced, central hotel
The rooms were well sized, clean and comfortable. The beds were big enough (I'm tall), the hotel staff were helpful and the service was excellent. We had the breakfast option and the food was good too. It's in a central location so we were in walking distance of all of the main attractions in Saigon.

A little run down but good location
Location is very good for doing sight-seeing by foot - 10-15 min walk to Dong Khoi Street, Saigon Opera House, and from there a few minutes more to Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral. Reasonable taxi fares from hotel to malls like VinCom. Hotel surrounded by restaurants so that's a plus. Hotel room we got a little run down but clean. No safe in rooms.

Great value for money
The location is great. Staff lovely. Bed comfy and good pillows. Air con worked. Had hot water. Towels white and fluffy. Overall was great except...I chose the hotel based on a previous review that said the make your own pho for breakfast was great...hmmm...if you call pouring a watery stock on 2 min noodles pho then??? It wasn't a big problem, we went to a few of the many places close by and had excellent pho.

Excellent location very close to attractions
The hotel is excellently situated near Ben Tanh market, night markets, War Remnants museum, Independence Palace etc. Also walking distance to some of the more highly rated cafes/restaurants in HCMC. Short cab ride to Bitexco Financial Tower / Sky Deck (you can walk it ~ 1 km, except I was there in April and the weather was extremely hot). The hotel itself is as basic as it gets: a room with a bed and bathroom. The WC in my room had trouble draining properly; same for the wash basin. The shower produced either VERY hot water or cold, alternating every few seconds regardless of how I adjusted the taps. The hotel breakfast is also pretty simple. Some bread for toasting, Vietnamese loaf, a couple of hot dishes (bacon, sausages), coffee and tea, juice, fruits. On the plus side, the aircon in my room worked well, and the facility is generally clean - no bugs or anything. The staff are also friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place just to sleep in between excursions to the various sights, this hotel is fine. The location is good. That being said, the entire area around Ben Tanh is full of other hotels of roughly the same quality, and there are a few hotels of mid to high quality as well.

Nice hotel with great staffs
The hotel is situated about 3 mins walk to Ben Thanh Market near to the Malay Street. The room is of reasonable size consider the price. The room I had does not have any window. The bathroom is spacious, however, the water pressure seems a bit inconsistent. The towel also could have smelled better. There is not a safe inside the room. The bed is very comfortable though. The best I like about the hotel is the friendly staffs who will not fail to greet you everything they see you.

Lovely stay!
I have no regrets choosing this hotel. District 1 is filled with hotel choices and this one was a great one! Breakfast options changed every day and the fact that it was included was great! The girl who tended to the area was helpful and kind. Infact all of the staff were really nice. The room was quite small but it did the trick. The location is the best part. Just steps away from Ben Thanh market and plenty of food options around. I loved our stay in HCMC and this hotel was part of it!

Lovely hotel in great location
I enjoyed a trouble-free booking process. On arrival I was greeted by friendly reception staff who were very helpful in assisting with any enquiries and organising a taxi to the airport. The room was nicely styled, clean and spacious. I enjoyed breakfast - cold and cooked to order. This was a really pleasant place to stay and I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

District 1 value
Hotel staff was nice, A/C and wi-fi worked great, refrigerator freezer even froze my water bottle, which I loved. Most hotels in HCMC have stairs at the entrance, (this one only had about a dozen) which would be a problem if my mother-in-law had come. Hotel is one block from Ben Thanh market, 3 blocks from Bui Vien Street, a lively and inexpensive street with fun alleys, restaurants and spas and walking distance to the War Rememberance museum (walk thru a beautiful park with lots of sculptures) Breakfast offering included made to cook eggs (which I did not do) Pho, vegetables, bread and fruit choices and juices and Congee. Less than what a huge hotel would offer, but it is nicer to stay at a smaller property where you can get in and out of the hotel with ease. I would return.

Charming basic hotel-excellent staff and location
The facilities/condition would be a 4 but only gets a 3 as there wasn't in-room coffee/tea making or in-room safe, as stated on the website; and the bathtub was quite worn. Otherwise, a charming hotel with basic services ie. no spa, pool or restaurant (only an okay included breakfast served from 6.30 - 10.00 am) that is centrally located and has excellent staff. The premises were being updated inside and out while we stayed and our room - a twin on the 6th floor - was in, other than the bathtub - great condition, very clean and comfortable spring beds. Also, great aircon and very quiet when the window was closed.

Decent hotel at a good price.
Arrived late at night to find out that the rooms the booked had AC units that were not working. They relocated us to the Bloom Hotel, which was right around the corner. 2 of my fellow travelers were able to stay in this location though and the rooms were very similar. Rooms were clean, beds were hard, showers were warm. Rooms are loud, but you would be hard pressed to find a quiet room in Saigon. Always greeted very nicely upon arrival. Not the hotels fault, but be cautious of the taxi drivers from the airport! Always get a metered cab!

First night in Saigon
We checked in very late after our flight for in and someone was waiting to greet us which we weren't sure if they would. Rooms are decent with a comfortable bed. Hot shower though the drain was very slow. We never are the breakfast but it was available. Ben Thanh market is literally around the corner which was cool to check out for a night but really really crazy, especially at night.

Good location, clean and comfy hotel :)
For a quick weekend getaway, this hotel is perfect to get a good night's sleep and rest up before touring the city. It's simple, easy, quiet and the staff were helpful and welcoming (although the cleaning ladies did like to have a long and fairly loud conversation outside our door early in the morning - but really I'm nit picking I'm here as I'm a light sleeper.) The breakfast was good, the location was amazing! It was exactly what we wanted. Good value for money. It's a bit run down like most places in HCMC (the bathroom is far from state of the art but it's functional and thats what matters); for the price, it's a good deal. Clean and easy and that's all you need when you spend most of the day outside anyway.

Couldn't Have Chosen A Better Hotel
I was in HCMC for a full month and stayed the entire time at the Vivian Hotel. This hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in for being a 2-star hotel. The hotel staff were more than just friendly. They were more than willing to help with any concerns you had and were very helpful when I was wanting to know where to find something or where to go. The room I had was very nice as well. I was pleased to have a mini fridge and safe in my room. Breakfast was a tad small, but it was good enough for being included. If I didn't feel like eating it, the hotel was situated within walking distance to many different restaurants. It was also within walking distance to many shops and activities. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I plan on staying here again when I go back to HCMC.

Stay at the hotel for a few days, great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room that I stay does not meet my expectation, bathroom looked dirty and bed sheet and tower have some sort of marks or stain on it. Told the staff and they replaced it but still looked dirty. Booked for 6 days and requested to leave early, the staff was nice enough to refund the 3 nights.

this is a really great and clean hotel next to ben thanh marketplace. i think it used to be one of the asian ruby hotels because all of their towels, menus, door handles, etc still say asian ruby. the room i stayed in had a balcony, which really made the room seem larger. the sheets were a little stained and the shower leaks everywhere, but besides that it's a very clean hotel and was very comfortable! definitely a great value.

Terrible Hotel
I had a bad experience staying at this hotel. The hotel room was very small. It was understandable that because of its central location (district 1 HCMC), the hotels/rooms can be quiet small. What is not acceptable was the cleanliness of the room. The hotel room furnitures were old and the room was not clean. My room smelt strongly of cigarettes! I developed a irritating dry cough since staying in that hotel and lasted for more than 2 weeks. I felt quiet itchy at night as well, and I think the bed sheets or room is not clean. The price for a standard room is not cheap either considering its Vietnam. It costs approx $40 US per night. I've stayed at another hotel in district 1 and its alot better for the same price! I do not recommend this hotel unless you are very desperate.
