You will love visiting Claytor Lake & this great waterfront home! Enjoy the private covered boat dock equipped with a porch swing to take in the views. The water is perfect for swimming right off the dock! Enjoy your days on the huge wrap around deck with ample seating, dining area, & a living room with a wall of windows with views of the lake. Enjoy relaxing under the stars in the hot tub! The tranquility & mountainous view also make this a great retreat anytime of the year! We want to make sure you have the utmost convenience! You'll be provided an access code to the main entrance prior to check-in. The owners are local, and will be able to be reached by phone, text, or email, during the duration of your stay. The house is located in the heart of the New River Valley and is just miles from the New River Trail State Park. The neighborhood, with a private road, features about a dozen homes on the upper portion of Claytor Lake. You're only about 2 miles up river from the Lowman's Ferry "Lighthouse" Bridge. The house sits directly on Claytor Lake with a dock for your own private access to the water. About 40 minutes to Virginia Tech and Radford University, 25 Minutes from Draper Valley Golf Club, and about 4 miles to the Boy Scout's Camp Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. There are also many wineries and breweries throughout the area including Iron Heart which is only 8 miles from the house. The area is great for a summer lake vacation, a fall get-away to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, or a peaceful winter retreat. All areas of the house, decks, and dock are open for access to guests. The dock available for use by renters and their guests for sun-bathing and swimming, there is space for renters to dock their own boat. The boat lift will be used by the property owners occasionally and the rental does not include use of the owner's boat or boat lift. This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom, 2 story house features sleeping arrangements for up to 10 people. Two bedrooms have king beds and the third bedroom has a full over full bunk bed. Additionally, there is one sleeper sofa, 2 couches, a sectional sofa, and a Pack n' Play available. Outdoor seating with tables for 8; large dining room table inside. The dock is provided with rental and is available for use by renters and their guests for sun-bathing and swimming, there is space for renters to dock their own boat. The boat lift will be used by the property owners occasionally and the rental does not include use of the owner's boat or boat lift. The kitchen is filled with plenty of plates, drinkware, cookware, and items to make your stay comfortable including: Blender, Coffee Maker(regular and Keurig), Toaster, and Waffle Maker. The laundry room is equipped with not only the washer and the dryer but also has some cleaning supplies if needed: Broom & Dust Pan, Mop & Bucket, Swiffer & Swiffer Pads, Vacuum, Disinfecting wipes, tool bag, and first aid kit. The house also has a Charcoal grill available for guests to use, please bring your own charcoal as we cannot be sure previous guest left any. The LazyBass is conveniently located in the heart of the New River Valley and is just minutes from the New River Trail State Park. About 40 minutes to Virginia Tech and Radford University, 25 Minutes from Draper Valley Golf Club, 15 Minutes to Iron Heart Winery, and about 4 miles to the Boy Scout's Camp Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. The area is great for a summer lake vacation, a fall get-away to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, or a peaceful winter retreat. You're only 9 miles from I-81\. There is a public boat lunch/gas station & convenience store is just a few miles away! Parking is available in the driveway of the house. The water off of the dock, which has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water, is 5-7 feet deep and is great for swimming! There is a sand bar about 40ft off of the dock that keeps boats from the main channel from coming near the dock. \- Pets are allowed, but an additional pet fee is required, so pets must be included on reservation. \- Internet is available, and is a consistent connection, but speeds can vary and Streaming is very limited, but regular internet usage is usually not an issue. \- Pets allowed with additional $100 pet fee. \- The yard is fenced in, to close it off completely you must shut the front gate at the driveway. \- Coffee Maker (Regular & Keurig) \- There are paddles for the Lazybass at the shared kayak rack at the lake between the two houses. Propane (for grill): 1\. There MAY BE a propane tank available at the house. 2.If you see a tank, you may use it for the grill. 3.If the tank is empty, guests are responsible for refilling it. 4.We DO NOT provide propane refills. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Only downside was the stairs leading to the rooms, pretty steep so may be unsafe for some pets. Also sleeps 10 but only one shower. The hot water never ran out though! The house is in such a great location and all the local neighbors are so friendly. The only issue we had was the gas grill did not work. Lindsey with Blue Ridge Escapes was wonderful and said she would alert the owners. Can’t wait for next year. ##### Crystal N. We found it very clean and well stocked. The beds, including the sofa bed, were very comfortable. The kids alternated their fun time between the video consoles and the dock. The neighbors were spectacularly friendly and helpful. Overall, a great time. ##### David J. Soiled covers on furniture. Algae everywhere outside on deck and house which needs repainting. No dresser in one bedroom, closet stuffed with old bed covers with no handle on the door. Poor lighting in living rooms. Only one shower and upstairs tub very difficult to get in and out with no shower. Looked nothing like the pictures, filters must have been used on every picture. Outside under house very sloppy and cluttered. Nothing outside was nice and neat. Very uncared for and messy. Looked run down, worse property I have ever rented. ##### Sherry D. Great communication with the hosts, well stocked house and kitchen, great wifi, and quiet neighborhood. The big yellow house really stands out on the street and makes it easy to find and the fenced backyard is perfect if you bring a pet. ##### John S. We felt very safe and had easy access to our trails. We cooked most of our meals and had plenty of supplies there to have a relaxing time; we even grilled outside while viewing the lake. The 2 king beds were very comfortable. Overall it was pleasant stay. ##### lesli a. Far enough away, but close enough to amenities! Loved swimming right off the dock, having a nightly bonfire, and plenty of space to spread out within the house. The state park swimming beach was only a 25 minute drive away and was the perfect place to relax with the family! Had an amazing time and will definitely recommend to others! ##### Kirsten N. Loved that it had a fenced in side yard for pets to relax and play. The house was great, it had everything you need to cook and serve a meal and the neighborhood was very relaxing! Lake views were lovely! The only weird thing was the water fixtures reversed, so hot was cold and cold was hot! Once you figured that out everything else was amazing! The house and location are perfect. We met such nice people who were also renting, but many who live there permanently. Everyone is so friendly. The only negative for the house is one of the bathrooms has a tub and everyone in our group was older. Sharing one shower with 9 people was a little tough, but we made do. It was no cause of the owner or the property. Waiting to get power back was all on the power company. Communication with the owner was spot on, who remained in touch with the progress of the power company. Even though they couldn’t correct the problem, they were there for us. 100% ##### Delmas B.
