With access to our salt water pool and garden gazebo, this is the perfect location for a friends getaway, family retreat, or wedding weekend. Built in the 1840's and lovingly restored and updated, our farmhouse has lots of charm as well as modern conveniences including a newly renovated kitchen and geothermal heating & air. We do not allow any parties on the property in order to maintain a safe and a tranquil setting. We kindly ask you to treat our farmhouse with care and respect. In addition to the living room, dining room, kitchen area, the downstairs includes a parlor with a dedicated workspace, a den with tv and sleeper sectional, a full bath, as well as sunroom with tv. So there are plenty of spaces to gather and relax. There are 3 bedrooms with multiple beds and 3 full baths upstairs, plus a twin daybed in the hallway so we can easily accommodate 12 adults. Outside there is a saltwater pool available to guests between May-September. There is also a garden gazebo and patio area with a grill. The outdoor areas are shared with guests who stay in our cabin (sleeps 4) and cottage (sleeps 2). These are listed separately. If you are interested in booking our entire property please message us. We are conveniently located near several wedding venues in the area including Market at Grelen (5 min), Barboursville Winery (15 min) Castle Hill (20 min). There are lots of things to do nearby including historic sites, wineries, hiking, antiquing, and pick your own orchards. Montpelier is 2 miles down the road and we are located near some of the top rated wineries in central Virginia including Pippen Hill, Horton and Keswick Vineyards. Nestled between Orange, Gordonsville, and Ruckersville you can access plenty of restaurants and antique stores within 15 minutes or less. For more restaurants and entertainment options we are just 30 minutes from Culpepper or Charlottesville. There are lots of opportunities for hiking in the area and we are 30 minutes from Shenandoah National Park. The kitchen is large and fully stocked, the house is clean and well-appointed, and there is plenty of seating and space to gather or entertain (including a large front porch with stellar views of sunsets on the Blue Ridge mountains). There is a swimming pool where the teen kids liked to hang out. My elderly parents stayed in the cabin on the property, while the rest of us took over the farmhouse and cottage. The cabin was a great set-up for them — all on one level and easy to move around. We would definitely book a stay on this property again! ##### Adrienne W. We stayed here for a girls trip/my sister’s bachelorette party and had such a great time. The home is so beautiful and so is the property. We loved hanging out by the pool and cooking in the kitchen. Inside was nice and clean and decorated beautifully. The views from the front porch and around the pool were great. The house is very close to a number of wineries and restaurants but still feels very private. Large farm house that has some really nice updates in the well stocked kitchen. Jessica and Matt have done an exceptional job restoring the house and have just the right touches. We use our microwave at home almost everyday and not having one, we didn't miss a beat with the Wolf Stove/Oven. Pool was a huge hit!! The grounds are on a working farm and the views to the Blue Ridge Mountains were breath taking. Our daughter and son-in-law love to cook, so the kitchen appliances were a big plus, although there is no microwave for my popcorn. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were well supplied with fluffy towels. The bedrooms did not have curtains covering the large windows and car lights flashed from the road so I felt a little exposed and did not sleep well. We tend to stay in historical properties when we visit and this home was a great choice. This house and property already has me wanting to make plans to bring others. Stunning views all around the house - the pool was great and the field in front was awesome for some adult kickball games! We only had 7 people, and the listing says it sleeps 12, but with the amount of space, I'm sure you could sleep more if you brought air mattresses. The kitchen and appliances were amazing (oddly enough, there wasn't a microwave, but it wasn't needed with that Viking range and oven). There were plenty of places to hang out in and around the property and plenty of vineyards, breweries and restaurants within 30 minutes.
