We are a local set of owners. We love the Spa at Port Royal Sound for the amenities and easy beach access. You get the whole place to yourself. There is a full kitchen and all the comforts of home. You have total privacy, yet I am only a phone call or text away, should the need arise. If you stay long-term, I will check in with you periodically, but basically leave you alone unless you contact me. The Spa at Port Royal is a quiet area tucked back into a historic part of the island. Built before there were building restrictions regarding distance from the water. As a result, the complex is extraordinarily close to the Sound. (FYI-Low tide does go out about 1/2 a mile.) The marsh grass has grown in behind the breakwater rocks on our beach, at the same time, a sandbar in front of the rocks has been built up and a proper beachfront has developed. It's quite a beautiful natural phenomenon and has provided us with 2 beaches. You have to see it to understand, but if you prefer a more regular beach, Mitchellville Beach is just a few hundred feet to the left of the property for those requiring a more "proper" beach experience. Mitchellville Freedom Park is across the street which is rich in its history. Our guests will have access to the entire unit throughout their stay. You’ll be treated to a comfortable bedroom, additional sleeping space, a well-equipped kitchen, a modern lounge, high-speed wifi, and a private balcony. During your stay, you’ll be able to enjoy the resort’s amenities, including the indoor and outdoor pools, gym, and tennis courts. Not only will you have access to the outdoor pool, but you’ll also find an indoor pool, hot tub, gym equipment, and tennis courts! If you’ve got little ones in tow, we’re sure you’ll be making plenty of use of the children’s playground too. The apartment also comes with on-site parking at the resort, so you won’t need to worry about where to leave the car. It’s conveniently located for easy walking to the nearby beach, which locals describe as the best natural beach on the island. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the local attractions the island has to offer, as nothing is ever more than 20 minutes away. ★☆ Book Today Hilton Head Island Adventure! ☆★ Please note that the Island is rather large, 60+ sq mi, the largest barrier Island in South Carolina, so you really do need a car to get around. We are less than a mile from the airport in Hilton Head, but most people fly into Savannah, GA, which is about an hour away. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation on Hilton Head, but Uber is readily available. Additionally, there are public bike paths and several bike rental companies nearby that deliver. It's fun to get around via bicycle, but you will still need a car. Uber and Lyft services are available on the island as well. Port Royal Sound and Fish Haul Beach The natural shoreline is quiet, and the shallow water is perfect for small children. This is a great spot to hunt for shells and sea life, as well as enjoy the natural surroundings. Bird watchers enjoy this side of the island and a bald eagle frequents the area. Please note, at low tide, the floor can be mushy or muddy in places - it is best traveled with water shoes (but still doable if you don't mind the squish). It's a very small area with low tide being out pretty far. We didn't enjoy the beach area. The pool and grounds were nice and clean. This property is small but noted in the description. The area around the complex is an airport so you have to listen to planes coming in and out and flying very low. The Vrbo was decorated very cute and super clean. This space would have been more comfortable with two adults only due to small space. We had one issue during our stay but property manager took care of it quickly. ##### Heather A. Has anything and everything you need from kitchen essentials to bath and laundry needs. Our only complaint is that you can't turn off the living room lights without it killing all the power, TV and all. Plus no privacy in the living room at night because theres no middle curtain so anyone can see in. So we had to hang a blanket at night. Also there's something on the bedroom ceiling anytime it senses motion it comes on and lights up the whole room. The stairs a little rough being on 3rd floor.
