This property was booked in November 2023, arrived no handicap room, or the second room I booked. I had to scramble around to find lodging. We had driven from Texas to South Carolina. It was about 8 pm. No help from this place. Worst bookings experience ever! So disappointed 😞

The property is gorgeous and right by the beach, with all kinds of pools, equipment, and diversions. Parking is exceptionally convenient, perhaps because of the season. Two stories were under renovation, however, leading to construction noise. On the fifth story, the floor is curiously unlevel, both in the hallway and in our room. The laminate flooring in our room was not well glued, either, so walking on the floor gave one the swaying sensation of being on a ship. Otherwise, the room was fine, but the resort seemed to cut corners, such as providing thin toilet paper.

Construction is necessary for growth, but having to sleep based on a construction schedule due to noise and being moved to 3 different rooms based on staff first not putting in the right room, then putting me on a part of the resort where another staff member said they shouldn’t, then final room had construction from 8am to 5pm. I felt like I was at home on my work schedule.

We had a great weekend stay at this pet friendly resort! The room was spacious and well maintained, lovely grounds and Shipyard beach access and best of all we had two dogs that enjoyed the property! Easy check in, bell service and kind house keeping staff! Would visit again!

I was not informed by any person or Expedia that the hotel was undergoing construction work. I came for a much needed peaceful get away and the construction noise started at 7am and did stop til 8pm. The property stated there were 3 restaurants. 1 was open for breakfast and you could get drinks and bar food after 4pm. At the bar. There was no transportation to any where. Needed to call an Uber . The Staff in the Restaurant were wonderful. The owners of the gift shop were very kind and funny. These who worked the bar were pleasant and friendly. The spa saved the day on 2 separate occasions.

Was not happy with their renovations, it was loud first thing in the morning. Not relaxing at all. Also the shower would not completely turn off so we had to hear that all night. Staff was nice though. Food was good.

Couldn’t use the water
It started out well. Beautiful property. Then they had to shut our water off 11am-5pm with just a few hours’ warning. After the water was turned back on, there was no hot water, but worse was the fact that all the water was brown. We had to use bottled water then, including for bathing. We understand there are unforeseen circumstances, but at a hotel like this, it should have been standard practice to offer a partial refund or something to ameliorate the situation. The staff was kind and apologetic, so the response was more a problem with management and it’s policy.

Loved the modern simplicity of the decor - perfect for a beach resort! Restaurant and hotel employees very helpful. But first of all, they did not have my reservation. Then the beautiful pictures online showing connecting pools was false advertising. Due to remodeling project, the pools were replaced with a very large field of DIRT. I picked the hotel because of those pools. I should get a partial refund.

hotel is good. location is good. just be warned that they do the resort fee and add parking fee once you are there so i can not give above average rating. alot of debate about these type fees and even complaints to the FCC for hotels that do this. this place is not in city with tight parking so parking fees are a stretch. i would prefer to know in large print on the add on sites such as Expedia about these hidden cost. even with the extra cost the hotel is ok but the surprise at check in was a downer.

Beautiful Property
There was nothing we didn't like about this resort. It is a beautiful, well maintained property. Beautiful grounds, great amenities and the beach was perfect. The fire pit areas were a great added touch, especially since we stayed on a colder fall night. We didn't take advantage of the on site restaurant but it looked nice and people seemed to be enjoying it. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and check in was quick and easy. We only stayed one night and it was sort of off season but we will definitely be making plans to return to enjoy our stay a little more.

Property was great. Check in horrible. Paying $300 per night with resort fees and taxes added.Told at desk that regretfully my room had a totally blocked view behind another building but for another $30 per night I could get an unobstructed view. Seriously! Hotel at best was 1/3 full.Complained when sent a check in survey and told this was best I can get with “std” rates.They offered a better view but was already unpacked for a few days so I passed.Question is if this room was available why not just give it to me at check in.Guess they didn’t want to miss a chance to shake me down for a few more dollars.I have been offered free upgrades with better rooms not only a better view few at other elite hotels when occupancy down.This is the class move and wins loyalty.Hotel overall was great but so are many other hotels in HH and elsewhere. Next time I’ll go to a hotel where I am respected.

Average but not memorable and expensive
I was hit by an unexpected Resort Fee + tax, coming to about $43/day. I think this should have been reflected in the room fee for a more balanced comparison with other hotels in the area.

I really liked the location. Maybe a tad dated property but location is on point. Moved to Omni later in the week and it was worse. This is a great value
