We enjoyed a relaxing view of the lake from both upper and lower porches. The slope of the lot down to the water was doable for 65-70 year olds as long as we took our time. Two decks and two living spaces were awesome except the upstairs fireplace was not working properly but we were able to enjoy the downstairs fireplace. The location is beautiful and right on the lake and all of the hydrangeas were in bloom. The kids were able to fish off the dock, Or relax on the lawn. We could roast s’mores over the fire in the evening After a day of fun on the lake. It was awesome to have the boat available and be able to use the Water skis as well as the tube for water time. The kayaks were perfect for paddling around in the early mornings were right around sunset with the mountains in the backdrop. The house has two beautiful big porches that overlook the lake and the property with plenty of chairs and areas to play cards or have breakfast together while enjoying the cool mountain air and the Vistas. The kitchen was well equipped with the dishware we needed, and we were able to prepare most of our meals right at the house. Shady Rest is just a short drive from several hiking areas and waterfalls as well.
