Perfect for our short visit
Cute little rental neighborhood with several modular home cottages. You can hear buck creek but you can't see it. Very quiet especially because we were the only people there. Close to downtown Highlands. Small but homey and clean. Hot tub was already on and waiting for us.

Great stay in Highlands
A real value in the over-priced Highlands / Cashiers region. The property was very clean and just as advertised. We will book again.

Not a comfortable place to stay
We were deeply disappointed with this property. The listing was deceptive, showing a house that looked very different from what we encountered. It was overstuffed with furniture, the house had clearly not been renovated, and it had a moldy, musty odor that the owner attempted to cover with a plug in air freshener. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the bathrooms were dated and uncomfortable. What’s good about the property? It’s near to Town of Highlands. That’s about it.

Disappointed
I was in Highlands for a weekend wedding in Cashiers. There were supposed to be three of us but unfortunately the other parties cancelled. Although the house was spotlessly clean I found a number of things wrong that did affect the quality of my stay. When I arrived the stench of air freshener (plug in type) was overwhelming. I have respiratory issues which were made worse by this. I disabled the units but the smell continued to linger until I checked out. The discomfort it caused on the first night was so bad that if I had had another place to go I would have left. It made me wonder what had smelled so bad that they had to cover the odor so much. I could not adjust the volume on the main TV with the remote control so it was stuck at a level 1 which meant no sound. I was able to watch some streaming shows on one of the bedroom TV's. There was one bedroom remote missing. The microwave had a huge crack in the frame of the door and I was scared to use it. The hot and cold faucets in one of the bathrooms are reversed with the hot water on the right and cold on the left which was quite disconcerting. The check out requirements include washing & putting away all your dishes as well as emptying all the trash and taking it to the dump. I felt this was quite draconian as it was only me and the cleaning fee is quite high. The place is pet friendly although I did not take my dog. They even have dog bowls and a small dog bed. Overall I would probably not stay there again.

Perfect for us!
This cottage had everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Separate baths. Full kitchen. Quiet area and pet friendly. The owner was very helpful putting in a new coffee maker when the existing one broke before we arrived. 👍
