Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 45-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

There are two "local" airports 1 in Andrews NC and the other in Blairsville GA.

We had an amazing stay at Lake Chatuge! The home was spotless and incredibly comfortable — the perfect place to relax after days of exploring. We loved having a ping pong table for friendly family competitions and cozy evenings around the fire pit. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains were absolutely gorgeous and made every morning feel special.The location couldn’t be better: close to grocery stores, great little antique markets, and plenty of hiking trails to choose from. It truly offered the ideal mix of adventure and convenience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and fun getaway!

#### Excellent For a Large Family!
The house is beautiful and large enough for a group of 12 (ages 1, 10, 17, 18, 21, 21, 23, 23, 27, 27, 44, 46) not to be on top of each other! The view of the lake is amazing but even better mountain view at the dock. We come to the lake at least twice a year and this was by far one of our favorite houses! We even took some impromptu senior pics in the backyard! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, high end appliances and grill, and a pleasure to cook in! Also a cool wet bar area. We have stayed in houses that Priscilla has managed before and she is amazing! Any questions or concerns we had were addressed quickly (not that we had any concerns!) and she is very friendly. The cove is perfect for swimming and boat protection. You're not constantly getting waked out. If you have a small child, I would definitely recommend bringing a baby gate! I think I saw you could rent them when you book too. Oh and comfortable beds! I hate to leave my sleep number at home and slept great there!

Our stay accommodated six golfers, providing ample living space with plenty of room and privacy after a week spent playing tournaments. The venue was clean and relaxing, offering a beautiful view of the lake. They would stay there again.
