      The water was atrocious.

We could not drink or even make tea and coffee with the water; it had an extremely strong sulfur smell. It was so bad that we dreaded bathing and washing dishes in it. After bathing, hair smelled like the water after.

Great place to stay for family and friends

We stayed during the July 4th week and had an excellent family vacation. We spent time in Lake Huron, explored the Les Cheneaux Islands, and did day trips to White Fish Point, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinaw Island, Saulte Saint Marie, and Lake Michigan. The location is excellent for these types of adventures. The house felt like home, was beautiful, and had everything we needed for 10 people with kids as young as 8. The sunsets over Saint Martins Bay are spectacular and we made it a point to not miss a single one. I have a family of “foodies” so we brought enough groceries for the main meals for the week and bought what we missed or used up in Cedarville. The house was clean, the rooms were comfortable, the 3 bathrooms worked well for us with a mix of adults and children, the kitchen-dining room table-family room was a great gathering place us, and access to the lake and deck platform was beautiful and easy to watch the deer and swans as they passed by. Thank you for the great memories, a few humorous family stories that will be told for years, the sunsets that helped to balance our souls, and helping us feel comfortable while spending time with each other. The family loved it and we plan to stay again.

          Perfect Family Getaway

My family of 10, ranging in age from 2 to 94, loved staying here together. The layout of the house slept many in rather private accommodations, while also allowing for ample communal family space. The kids loved being able to roam in and out of the house (bring bug spray!) and there is nothing better than drinking coffee with the early risers (aka, kids) on the dock while they play in the sand. I would definitely do it all over again, but would do more research on public trail access nearby as it is pretty remote. We loved biking Mackinac island, definitely a highlight. The Hessel public beach was perfect for an easy outing, with ice cream, and the John ‘something’ nature sanctuary was a perfect walk just east of Cedarville.

              Beautiful cabin for large families

This was our second time staying at this cabin, and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. This place is really spacious, and beautiful.
