We’re glad you found us. We’ve been told it’s hard to find a specific listing again if you want to come back to it. The Cabin on the Woods is owned and operated by me (Kaye), your host. Now, for the details about our Cabin in the Woods: Property Location: Our cabin property is East of historic Hendersonville and Southeast of Asheville amidst apple orchards and local wineries and vineyards. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available in our pond. Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, our 20-acre property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees. SPRING: Spring days are warmer (60-76) while nights remain chilly (36-53). Spring is great for hiking followed by a dip in the hot tub in the evening. Spring sometimes has a cold spell that drops temperatures near freezing for a night or two. We keep the fireplace pilot lit until the night time temperature consistently remains above 60 degrees, at which point the fireplace is turned off for the summer. SUMMER: In summer months average temperatures are in the low to mid 80s with nights cooling down into the 60s. Perfect for an evening soak in the hot tub! Frequently summer days feature a brief cooling thunderstorm in the late afternoon. FALL: In the Fall temperatures drop from highs averaging 78 in September to 59 in November. Lows average 57 in September and drop to 36 in November. It’s fireplace time! WINTER: Weather is brisk to chilly in the winter, occasionally dipping below freezing, but snow is fairly rare. The cozy gas log fireplace and the hot tub on the covered porch will keep you warm! Highs hover around 50 with highly variable lows averaging a bit below freezing. Cabin Location: The Cabin in the Woods at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. It is one of our more secluded cabins, being located on the wooded portion of our 20 acre property. There are woods on all sides.. You may glimpse a small part of another cabin, but there are no other buildings within sight. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the local mountains through the bare trees. There are woods behind the Cabin in the Woods for miles (not all ours!). Cabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has an outside propane BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond. The hiking trail starts from (or ends at) the road to the Cabin in the Woods before you get to the Cabin. (Look for the sign.) It goes up in the woods and comes out next to the Cabin on the Hill where you can walk the roads back to your cabin. Area Activities: While many guests simply relax on the property for their entire stay, there is much to do in the area – hiking Chimney Rock Park, a boat tour of Lake Lure, a visit to Historic Hendersonville, dining at the many great area restaurants just a short drive away, visiting the many surrounding state and national parks and forests (Dupont, Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway), and of course visiting the famous Biltmore Estate. Horseback riding is available in the area, as are visits to numerous wineries, and breweries, plus a cidery and meadery, many of which have live music and food trucks. Hiking locations are abundant. Spring and fall driving tours of our apple growing country side are available with many fruit stands to select from. Seasons: The property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees. Surveillance device notice: We are in the process of adding cameras to our properties. Cameras are near stairs to the cabin and cover the stairs and parking space. Cameras record video. Additional cameras on our property cover portions of the road to the cabins (Wyatt Lane). Interior and hot tub areas are NOT covered. This nice lil’ cabin in the woods made for a very quiet and relaxing long weekend getaway for my husband and I! It was very peaceful, clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was very relaxing. Kaye was very accommodating. She was very helpful and pleasant. We had the pleasure of meeting her and her husband, David, during our stay. Just an fyi… you will definitely want to take a four wheel drive vehicle to this cabin though because the road leading to it is a little rough and is on the steep side in one area. However, we were in my husband’s truck so that wasn’t a problem for us at all. ##### Sherry S. We stayed here 14years ago and loved it time just got away from us to return until now. I don’t know why we didn’t come back sooner! It was perfect- clean, cute, and fully stocked with anything you might need! We spent time shopping and dining in downtown Hendersonville and visited nearby Justus Orchards and Pearson’s Falls! The hot tub was wonderful for relaxing after being out for the day. We had no issues getting to our cabin on a small gravel inclined road in our car this time of year; however, as others have said, a truck or SUV would be optimal during seasons that road conditions would be worse. Our host was very attentive. There is a washer/dryer, terrific hot tub, and fishing pond a short 2 minute drive from the cabin, but no dishwasher. This was exactly that! It was clean and well-appointed. A beautiful property surrounded by woods. We heard an occasional plane overhead or car on the distant road but, we primarily listened to the wind in the trees and the birdsong. The cabin was clean. The grill and kitchen appropriately appointed. AC and Hot tub easy to use. We hiked a bit on the property and visited the beautiful pond. Exactly as described. Easy communication with the host. Highly recommend this location if you want a quiet time away. Very close to Hendersonville and Asheville (closer than it seemed on the map) if you want to go into town. ##### Shannon E. The cabin is exceptionally clean,very private, and fully stocked with most of those little things you wish you had sometimes like coffee and filters, cooking oil,bug spray, and even bath robes and slippers. Cell phone service is limited so it provides a great opportunity to check out of reality for a day or two. The pond is excellent for relaxing in nature and the hammock is an added bonus. Its about a 10-15 drive to town,but nothing too inconvenient at all. This was our second time going to the property and I already can't wait to go back again. ##### Tara C. This cabin is perfectly located 15 minutes from both Hendersonville (downtown) & Chimney Rock. The property is just as described a charming little cabin in the woods. Very private with a big porch for morning coffee & a hot tub to relax in after a long day of hiking or seeing the sights. The cabin has everything you need right down to robes & slippers for the hot tub. Kaye was very friendly, and communication was fantastic. The only complaint we had was the Wifi (for streaming tv) was a little slow, but certainly not a major issue. We will defiantly come back to Ms. Kaye's Cabin in the Woods. ##### Cindy F.
