The property is completely double-glazed and centrally heated, with a light, spacious kitchen diner looking out over the large wrap around garden, making it an ideal house for all seasons. We have recently added a workstation (desk and monitor to use with your own laptop) in the quiet second sitting room for home-working use. The Cottage is set back from the road and provides a relaxing, peaceful setting for a holiday on the Lizard Peninsula. Although we do not have private parking, there is on road parking and several free car parks extremely close to the cottage. Please note - sorry we do not accept any pets (inc very tiny well behaved dogs !). St Keverne is a working village with lots of local entertainment and attractions - including the St Keverne Band (brass) which plays frequently in the village on summers' evenings - you'll probably hear them practicing in the village hall close to the cottage! The cottage is ideal for families and children as the garden is secure and enclosed - making it suitable for little ones. A high chair and travel cot are supplied & the main bedroom has plenty of space for a cot. The village of St Keverne lies on the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula just 1.25 miles inland with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. It lies within Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From Primrose Cottage, you can explore the spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic cliff walks along the South West Coastal path. Ideal for water sport enthusiasts, the Lizard Coast is the perfect place to indulge in surfing, scuba diving and kayaking, whilst walkers will love the opportunity to explore the historic settlements which litter the Cornish landscape. Just north is the Helford River, with its fantastic sailing and fishing - and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. Further afield visit Falmouth with one of the largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and take time to visit The National Maritime Museum. West Cornwall is also an ideal destination for anyone with an interest in arts and crafts with the highlights of the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, and the Minack Theatre together with outstanding local galleries and artists' workshops everywhere, showcasing Cornwall's vibrant art scene. There are a host of National Trust and historic properties and gardens to explore in West Cornwall, including Trebah, Bonython, Lamorran, and Trelissick. Don't forget to visit St Michael's Mount and nearby Marazion with its stunning beach and surfing. We had never booked a holiday rental before, and we are so glad we booked Primrose Cottage for our first experience. The accommodation is perfect; a real home from home. Such a comfortable, relaxing environment. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of. We jokingly said that the only thing we hadnt seen was weighing scales for cake baking... only to find them a day or so later! Our kids loved playing in the garden and in the games room, and we loved relaxing on the sun loungers and on the cozy sofa. The village is really lovely too - a spar that stocks all the essentials, pubs to eat in, and all within a stones throw of amazing beaches. We are a neurodivergent family, so we had a lot of boxes to tick when looking for accommodation, and this ticked all of them. Jane is an amazing host too; always responsive and helpful. If, like us, you are looking for a slice of luxury to base yourself on the Lizard, look no further. ##### Dean W. I would recommend to have a car, parking situation near cottage is good. - Cottage has good equipment to make it through the day with kids even on a bad weather day (board games, ...). Das Cottage ist super cozy eingerichtet, mit Fensterbänken zum Lesen, einem Kamin für ein gemütliches Feuer. Bettwäsche und Handtücher wurden gestellt, genauso wie Mülltüten und Geschirrspültabs sowie Handseife. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und wir haben Cornwall mit seiner super schönen Natur genossen. Nur das Be- und Entladen ist etwas tricky, da die Lemon Street sehr eng ist und man nicht vor dem Cottage parken kann, muss man entweder alles zum/vom Parkplatz tragen oder die Straße mit dem Auto zum Be- und Entladen blockieren. ##### Katrin B. Das Cottage ist gut eingerichtet, die Kommunikation mit der Besitzerin sehr umfassend und hilfreich. St. Keverne ist ein netter Ort, der für uns aber vor allem Ausgangsort für Ausflüge in die nähere und fernere Umgebung war. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub. ##### Christina A. The wood burner is fab - makes the place very cosy and also were pleased to be able to store bikes in the shed which was lockable. A very enjoyable stay with out 3 children- the play/games room was very much appreciated by our youngest two. The property is away from the beaten track but this, for us, was a benefit. Two local pubs serving great food and friendly locals, made for a more authentic Cornish stay. We would highly recommend. ##### Gary E. Das Cottage war sehr sauber gut ausgestattet und gemütlich mit einem kleinen, sehr hübschen Garten. Der Kontakt zum Gastgeber sehr unkompliziert und reibungslos. St. Keverne ist ein nettes , kleines Dorf, guter Ausgangspunkt für diverse Ausflüge an Strände oder Wanderungen. Der Supermarkt und Pub sind direkt um die Ecke. Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was benötigt wird! Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Es ist genügend Geschirr und Besteck für mehr als 6 Personen vorhanden. Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine sind top! Es war alles sehr sauber. St. Keverne ist ein kleiner beschaulicher Ort mit Pub und kleinem Supermarkt und Metzger. Alles ist in wenigen Metern zu erreichen. Für Ausflüge in der Umgebung ist ein Auto schon zu empfehlen. Toll für Familien oder zwei Paare zu empfehlen. Das Cottage liegt in zweiter Reihe und ist etwas schwer zu finden. Man sollte daher vorher bei Jane eine genau Beschreibung anfordern. Wir erhielten von FeWo-Direkt die Anreiseinfo leider erst am Folgetag. ##### Torsten S. The cottage was very quiet, very comfortable and spotlessly clean and we found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook for ourselves throughout the week. Having the Spar within a 60 second walk was very handy, and although it’s not possible to park at the cottage directly, the road was quiet for unloading and the little car park was only 50m further up the road. St Keverne is a great place to stay to access anywhere on The Lizard and we were surprised how quick it was to get to Falmouth and Marazion. Also lovely walks in all directions direct from the cottage. It was such an important escape for us and such a beautiful, peaceful place to spend it. Would love to come back…. Very responsive owner and a location that made trips to Porthcurno, Mousehole, St-Just-in-Roseland, Lizard Point, Carbis Bay and Kynance Cove possible within an hour. Rosilly's ice-cream was lovely!
