"Teddy" After enjoying a good night's sleep in the king size log bed, you will want to make this your home away from home! Start the day with a cup of coffee on the covered porch while watching the sunrise through the trees. Stay hidden away or venture out to the small town of Helen, located only 6 miles from Bear Hug. Downtown is filled with restaurants, shops and attractions. Spend the day visiting local wineries or take a hike on one of the many trails in the area. Unicoi State Park is located only a mile away from the cabin, making a leisure hike to Anna Ruby Falls very convenient. Numerous wilderness areas and state parks with trails and waterfalls are located within easy driving distance. Bear Hug's knotty-pine walls are accented with a collection of artfully crafted birdhouses in the living room and kitchen. You will find the kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as both a standard and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy cooking a meal at the cabin, knowing you only need bring the groceries. We have the cookware and dinnerware you need stocked in the cabinets and drawers. For your convenience, there is also a washer and dryer. The cozy living room is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a flat screen television. Curl up and watch a good movie! Or, you might decide to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings while relaxing in the hot tub located on the front deck. Don't forget there is a gas grill on the back porch and an outdoor fire pit to enjoy! This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $50 + tax for each additional. • Minimum Age Requirement: Bear Hug is available to families or to guests 21 years and older. • Parking: Space is available for 2 vehicles. • Access: The road is dirt and gravel to the property. • Pets: Bear Hug is pet-friendly. The only thing that didn't work was the hot tub. Thankfully it was fixed the second day and was ready for use that night. Otherwise we had a great stay and a lot of fun. Not just for the downtown activities but the perfect spot for all other sites and attractions. A lot better than staying in a hotel. Not hard to locate and easy accessibility. The cabin has everything that is needed to stay a long weekend minus food. The bathroom has plenty of room and plenty of hot water, Clean! It’s in a quiet area also. I recommend this to anyone that has a couple of nights to get away from the hassle at home. I’m not much for walking around in Helen because I don’t consider that rest, I’d rather lay around in the cabin. Oh yeah the hot tub is awesome also private and clean. ##### james h. Jul 8, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Peaceful and cozy stay My wife and I chose this cabin for our 24th wedding anniversary 4 day weekend. The cabin was very nice and peaceful. Perfect size for a peaceful romantic getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy. The hot tub was wonderful even in the middle of summer. We enjoyed using the back patio grill as well. This property really had all you needed. It was so nice being very close to Helen but yet still far enough away that you did not have any of the traffic or noise. My only recommendations/suggestions are the pots and pans are old and worn and could be updated/replaced, there were flickering lights in the bedroom CF and living room CF, and the mattress needs to be replaced (the middle sags). ##### Jon M. We visit the area often and have stayed in a lot of cabins but this one stole our hearts. Would love to have an exact replica to live in daily. The cabin is the ideal size for two.
