Pros: Close proximity to downtown area.....good restaurant across the parking lot!
Cons: Breakfast foods (eggs...gravy...meats) should have been hotter......nice variety of other breakfast foods (cereal...waffles...fruit...yogurt...muffins
Location: Helen, GA.....lots of shopping and other great towns close by.
Check-in went smoothly....nice, friendly staff. Check-out was disappointing....no one was at the front desk....waited a total of about 10-15 minutes all the while ringing the bell and checking various areas of the lobby to find a staff member....I finally had a friend call the hotel number to determine if anyone was working and ask them to come to the front desk so we could check out....a staff member came but never apologized nor asked any of the usual questions as to whether or not we had enjoyed our stay, etc. Maybe she was just having a bad day!!!!

A special treat for yourself.

The staff was awesome they even came to our room and hooked my husbands Xbox up for him. We stayed in a king room that had a jacuzzi, fireplace, and private balcony. We loved it so much we drove back in from Atlanta and stayed an extra night. We are going back the next long weekend we have. Plus our daughter ask when she finished school would we move there with her because she loved it so much.

Close to downtown and restaurants

Not a good time to stay there during spring break unless you are young enough to be on spring break yourself. Hotel fully booked, therefore couldn't swap rooms. Are at.Bodensee, food ok. Don't miss Hofer's bakery! Anna Ruby Falls awesome, a 40 minute roundtrip hike on a paved road.

Disappointed stay

Posted 18-Mar-2017
The floor looked as if it wasn't vacuumed in awhile. There was quite a bit of hair on the sheets so obviously they weren't changed from the last guest. I stayed during the winter so I had the heat going but it wasn't working properly. It was blowing more cold air than hot. Finally, I guess the staff thought I was only staying for one night because upon returning from a day out on the second day I find my room key no longer worked. I had to go to the front desk to have them reactivate it to get back in my room.

The hotel was super clean and bed was super comfy. The staff at the front desk were very knowledgeable about the area and the best places to eat. Will definitely stay here again!

Weekend in Helen, GA

Posted 20-Feb-2017 on Hotels
Nice weekend stay in Helen, GA. Hotel was fine. Looks like some upgrades have been underway. Maybe could use just a few more. Otherwise, a great place. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was spacious and comfortable. Would recommend.

Very noisy high school basketball players with no oversight Floors seek when someone walks around above you. I am a builder and that's a rookie mistake to not glue subfloor!!!

Not for Families, Outdated, Inconvenient

The staff was super helpful and nice! Sadly, that's were the good ends. The room was outdated and smelled so strongly of deodorizer that our noses and eyes burned. The carpet was wrinkling up and the bathroom seems old. The walls and windows were so thin that the karaoke from the bar in the parking lot kept us up late into the night...not good with tired children. There were no working vending machines, so a bottle of water cost us a walk across busy streets, again not great with littles. The location is away from the cute little downtown and requires a walk along a very busy road with precarious sidewalks. Would not stay again.

We were very disappointed when we arrived in the lobby for breakfast and there was nothing left. The staff did not offer to prepare more food for us or anyone else that came after us. For a busy weekend and an almost full hotel I would expect them to accomodate the guests since breakfast was provided with the cost of the room. We frequent Helen several times a year and this was ou first experience at this hotel.
