Nicely decorated and comfortably furnished, this is a perfect getaway located just 90 miles from either Washington DC or Baltimore, MD. Offering access to numerous amenities and activities available at the resort and the surrounding area, this retreat strikes the ideal balance between a quiet getaway and an active vacation destination. The resort also boasts several small lakes for fishing and scenic strolls. The cottage is fully furnished with new bedding and linens, large kitchen/dining area with breakfast bar for three that's perfect for cooking and sharing a meal together and two full updated baths with granite countertops. Two of the three bedrooms have queen beds and third bedroom has a day bed with a trundle bed below. Numerous windows and skylights in the living room provide a bright and airy feel, enhancing the feeling of being surrounded by trees. A nice-sized screen porch provides a comfortable seating area to relax or have a meal, with massive decks on both sides of the home perfect for viewing the abundant wildlife this home site shares. Backing up to the breath-taking 23,000 acre Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management area, which boasts a more than 200 acre lake (approximately 10 mile drive from property), you will always have plenty of room to hike and explore. Awesome creek views can be seen from either deck as well as the screen porch. Enjoy a memorable time by the outdoor fire pit while roasting marshmallows, take a nap overlooking the many trees and wildlife in your own hammock or cuddle with your sweetheart by the brick fireplace during those cold nights and watch a movie on the large Smart Big Screen TV. Home has both Ethernet and a wireless network for your computing needs. Smart TV allows you to sign into your own Netflix account and others to watch movies. Home has central air and heat allowing you to enjoy those home amenities away from home. Numerous indoor and outdoor amenities and activities are available for use within the resort, including indoor/outdoor pools and hot-tub, fitness center, tennis, racquetball, volleyball courts and playground. Golf is available, including driving range and club rental. The Clubhouse Grille is located nearby at the Golf Clubhouse. The Sleepy Creek Spa and salon is a great place to indulge and pamper yourself. The surrounding areas provide lots of interesting history and numerous diversions. Berkeley Springs, WV, is famous for its mineral springs, and offers interesting shopping and some excellent dining options. Skiing is not far away. Whitetail Ski Resort is approximately 45 minutes away for skiing and tubing. Harpers Ferry, WV, is a top destination for American history buffs, and also offers white water rafting, kayaking and tubing on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. Nearby Fort Frederick is one of the best examples of a frontier fort from the Colonial period. The C&O Canal National Park and the Maryland Rail Trail are only minutes away at Hancock, MD, along with a Potomac River boat launch. This was our perfect solution! We were in the middle of the woods with a fire pit, creek, hiking nearby, and bugs. But we had comfy beds, great living spaces, and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is great. The house is stocked with everything you’d need. There are great outdoor areas: a large screened porch and two large, open decks/porches, which we were unfortunately unable to take advantage of because of the sub-freezing weather. We’ve stayed at MANY houses in The Woods and this was one of the best. It would be perfect for 2 to 4 people, plus pets. ##### Courtenay C. They have everything you need for cooking and relaxing. The association has 3 pools which were very nice. We purchased a couple guest pass. My husband enjoyed the golf course. I we visited during the heat wave across the country so we were not able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and fishing in the creek. I highly recommend. ##### Debbie D. We loved the location — what a great lot— bordering the recreation area. Our dog loved it, too. The house was perfect for us three adults and just loved how well supplied it was and all the seasonal decorations. Our only regret is the weather was not warm enough for us to enjoy any of the outdoor seating areas (except for the fire pit). Jack and Tama clearly take pride in their home. It is beautifully decorated and clean. The kitchen is very well stocked and there were plenty of extra towels and blankets. The screened-in porch is amazing. We enjoyed our morning coffee and eating meals out on it...very peaceful! The fire pit was great for making s'mores and enjoying the cool evenings. The cabin has everything you need and I mean everything.Just bring your food and clothes. The owners were the best at communicating. We loved the fire pit and the screened in porch was amazing. The owners left us ingredients to make s’mores and a bottle of wine. That was such a kind jester. Our family feel in love with the cabin right away it was so cozy and homey. We enjoyed our stay at The Woods. This home is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen is very well stocked compared to others that we have rented. The owners are easy to communicate with and get along with and respond in a timely manner. They definitely want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your time there. We loved the screened in deck and of course everything about the house. The beds are comfortable and they have lots of games to play if you decide to stay and relax. Oct 24, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy #### House was great but cleaning cost not warranted The house itself is great 5 stars and being in The Woods was good but lacked access to any type of stores nearby. Their gym, pool, and jet pool was great. The problem I have with the arrangement is twofold: 1\. There is an expensive charge to cleaning up after leaving, but the agreement requires you to clean up prior to leaving including dumping of trash in a bin away from the property. After doing everything the only thing left was wipe down of the bathroom and towel laundering (I'm surprised we weren't required to do that too). 2\. There was very less than one roll of toilet paper and though there were closets for storage none provided backup toilet paper. I contacted the manager regarding it but got no response. Not sure if this is a cleaning job or just poor management but that was difficult with the nearest store 30 minutes away. ##### Patrick D.
