![Hamilton Pool Preserve is a historic swimming hole located 3/4 mile upstream from its confluence with the Pedernales River, which is right outside of Austin. Hamilton Creek spills out over limestone outcroppings to create a 50 foot waterfall as it plunges into the head of a steep box canyon. The waterfall never completely dries up, but in dry times it does slow to a trickle. However, the pool's water level stays pretty constant, even during periods of drought. No pets of any kind are allowed. Only a limited number of people are allowed to enter so arrive early, people wait outside and as people leave, others are allowed in. There are no lifeguards on duty so swim at your own risk. There are areas that get pretty deep.

« My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the Wimberly area. The cabin was ready, clean and comfortable and the fenced area around the cabin was perfect for our senior dog! We also used the hot tub multiple times and greatly enjoyed the starry nights with much less light pollution than we are used to living near Dallas. I also enjoyed walking/hiking on the 60 acres surrounding the cabin. If you are seeking peace and quiet just a short drive from Wimberly, this is your place....

You’re at the first couple of places to go shop or eat. The owners are super nice and answered my questions quick. « The views are beautiful from the covered porch. The beds were very comfy. The home is situated on a quiet country road and decorated with charm. We were in the area for a wedding and found this home to be cozy and comfortable Your little dog loved the big fenced in backyard. »

« Great property with amazing hardscapes. Close to town and attractions. Scary but cool driveway. Take your time especially on your first drive in lol. House was comfortable and clean. Kitchen was well supplied except frying pans need replacing asap. Outdoor lighting on living room side did not work which could be a bit of a safety issue (especially with all the rock) »
