You can find bluegill, catfish, crappie, hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass and white bass. The fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Come enjoy your very own backyard aquarium starting at dusk. Green underwater fish lights under dock attract the stripper, largemouth, catfish, gar. Light on nightly from dusk till dawn. Come and enjoy the show. See pictures \* WINTER POOL: From November to March, Herrington Lake transitions to winter pool levels. Rest assured, our dock is still in deep water as always! Other Things to note: Navigating steps is a must to reach these breathtaking views 22 steps to front door then 3 flights of steps to access the dock The steps leading from back deck to dock have open handrails (no spindles), use caution. Child safety gate at top of steps leading to the dock. We ask children be supervised while descending steps. All steps are lit. Leave the trailer at the marina. We have no room for a trailer and no turn-around space. November to April Herrington Lake is at winter pool. During these months, dock remains in deep water but gangway will not be attached to deck steps. To reach dock, guests will step off of steps onto rocks and navigate down rocks to reach gangway of dock. Caution advised. Home is not handicap accessible. Bring your kiddos! But home is not toddler-proof or baby-proof. Lake house is surrounded by trees. While this is peaceful, it does mean you will encounter bugs, leaves, pollen, small twigs. Pollen and leaves will settle on outdoor furniture & decking. During the colder months, small wildlife critters (such as mice) may try to find a warm cozy place to hide. This may include inside the lake house. While the house is professionally cleaned, keep in mind the house is still a lake house nestled amongst nature and wildlife. We are perched on a cliff which means you will encounter uneven terrain, rock and mud if you venture off the patio, deck and steps. Quiet hours: 10pm - 6am Cell service is spotty here on the lake. We have pockets of good reception and we have areas of bad reception. Wifi is reliable. If having constant cell service is important, please take note of this important detail prior to booking. Damage protection - The $40 charge listed as a "management fee" on your quote covers your purchase of $1500 of "all risk" damage protection coverage on the rental property. This protection is purchased in lieu of a cash damage deposit. Coverage details are spelled out in the rental agreement. The lake views were incredible, with kayaks and paddleboard readily available for playtime on the water. My only caution would be there are many stairs involved (to/in in the house and down to the lake) which would be a challenge for anyone with limited mobility. We had no problems but just a heads up! It is on a quiet area of the lake and was just the getaway our family needed. HIGHLY recommend! ##### Katie B. Well equipped kitchen & well stocked TP & paper towel. Could use hand towels for bathrooms and dish towels in kitchen. We were in town for the Bourbon trail and Keeneland. The house was perfect for our group of 8 and remote enough that we got a great bang for our buck while still being able to get a bus for the bourbon trail. Plenty of room for people to sleep and the game room was really cool. The Captain’s quarters (master bedroom) was amazing! I’d definitely stay again. ##### Jack M. Beautiful views, right on the lake with dock access! (We enjoyed kayaking and hanging out there)! So nice to sit on the decks and enjoy coffee no matter the weather! (Both covered and non-covered decks to enjoy)! Also this property has so many amenities that our family enjoyed! (Pac-Man Arcade w/multiple games, a pool table, shuffle board, board games, TVs in about every room, books to enjoy, and so much more)! It was located about 25 minutes from Danville and a little less than an hour from Lexington. (We ventured out for groceries and mall shopping)! To note: the main road to the lake house is somewhat narrow, but not too bad, we had 2 vehicles a car and a passenger van, and had no issues and were able to park both vehicles there just fine! We highly recommend this beautiful home and plan to come back! Awesome views, great amenities, good location! ##### Jeremy R. Paradise Key is beautifully decorated and spacious with fabulous view of the lake from multiple decks! Usually the rooms will look bigger in the pictures, but not here, I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were. Plenty of room for the 6 of us, my sibs and spouses and our gear. We had 2 days of bourbon tours and spent the rest of the week swimming, fishing and playing cards in this fantastic lake house. My sister used one of the kayaks and even found special kayak life vests. The house is exactly as stated. It has a well appointed kitchen. We cooked every night and my sisters especially loved the fridge with the beverage drawer. We enjoyed the game room and the multiple decks with the fantastic deck furniture. The parking was even better than I expected, since the road is narrow, but we easily got a pickup and 2 good sized cars on the pad. ##### Jana H.
